We've already decorated our tree. We've started the sale. But seems like we're forgetting something.

Oh! That's right! It's not the holidays without a chance to visit GOG.com, looking for new and interesting ways that Coala has photo-chopped wintery iconography into them. It's a tradition that we're continuing for our fourth year!

The contest is simple: go through our catalog; we've edited 12 images, scattered across our wide selection of games, to include obvious holiday references, such as santa hats, Christmas trees, or reindeer. For an example, take a look at one of our screenshots from last year:

When you’ve got them all, list them all in an email to "contest@gog.com" with the subject line being "GOG.com 2012 Scavenger Screenshot Hunt". From every valid application we will pick 10 winners who got all the games right and gift them two games from the entire catalog. The contest ends on Tuesday December 25th 2012 11:59 GMT.

Or, I suppose, on the 21st of December when the world erupts in fire and doom. But if we're still around after that, then we'll end the contest officially on the 24th. ;)

keeveek: There are way more games in the catalogue, maybe that's it :P

Rodzaju: Last year there were some really tricky ones (like the small character head in ToEE) where you really had to study the pictures.
This year it seemed like just looking through the catalogue & they pretty much jump out at you.
I was just thinking the same thing. I've already searched about half the catalogue and have 6 for the list. They were all fairly obvious up until now and you could see them from the main thumbnails that show up on each game's page.

My birthday is on the 21st of December, so I hope it doesn't erupt in fire and doom :)

I found them all just from the thumbnails.

Spoiler alert!
Spoiler

Dark Earth isn't one of them nor is Doom.

I know I should be banned now

Not really; you still have to look at each page to find them in the thumbnails, which is the point of the scavenger hunt I presume, minus the headache-inducing hidden object search from previous years... which is understandable, considering the fact that the catalogue is considerably larger this year.
And this time around I know for sure that I have the 12 they want!

Yeah it is a bit easier this year isn't it? Still have the three games with stuff in them that will make you guess wrong though, since they have holiday looking stuff in the actual games! :)
It probably bears mentioning that Tyrian 2000 has a Christmas mode where it turns lasers into candy canes so don't get caught up on it by mistake.
Hope I got them right! Good luck everyone. :)
Welp, got 12 games, but I'm unsure about one of them...

...But I reaaaaally don't want to go through them all again... :/

Edit: Oh wow, got really lucky and found the last one clicking on a random game on the home page. XD

It took me about an hour to find them all. Good luck to everyone!
In anticipation of this I found 9 yesterday. Gotta hunt through the catalog again!
Finally found all of them, they were all pretty easy to find.

I'm fairly sure I know the one you were unsure about. Grats for finding them all though :) I sent my list too just a minute ago.
