We've already decorated our tree. We've started the sale. But seems like we're forgetting something.

Oh! That's right! It's not the holidays without a chance to visit GOG.com, looking for new and interesting ways that Coala has photo-chopped wintery iconography into them. It's a tradition that we're continuing for our fourth year!

The contest is simple: go through our catalog; we've edited 12 images, scattered across our wide selection of games, to include obvious holiday references, such as santa hats, Christmas trees, or reindeer. For an example, take a look at one of our screenshots from last year:

When you’ve got them all, list them all in an email to "contest@gog.com" with the subject line being "GOG.com 2012 Scavenger Screenshot Hunt". From every valid application we will pick 10 winners who got all the games right and gift them two games from the entire catalog. The contest ends on Tuesday December 25th 2012 11:59 GMT.

Or, I suppose, on the 21st of December when the world erupts in fire and doom. But if we're still around after that, then we'll end the contest officially on the 24th. ;)
I've gone through #, A and B so far, and cuurently all #, A and B games are on my Hunt list. There is so much red and green combinations I feel like they are celebrating Christmas in every single game.
Just look at the following picture for example. The whole army base is celebrating. LINK
And here the guy decorated his gun in Xmas spirit to bring happiness and joy to his enemies (OK, maybe not that). LINK

Just for curiosity here...
If you win this, what 2 games are you going to pick? (aside from the obvious The Witcher 2 if you haven't have it yet)

I personally would love to get Baldur's Gate or Planescape Torment. But find it to be too old or cheap game (that rarely if ever get discounts though).

CoreySteel: I sorted games by date added. ...I can't find a game in the last 1/3 or so (after the racist one).

The racist one? There's a game on GOG.com that's racist? Which game would that be?
Lol... If you find that screenshot, then you'd understand.

I would pick one game for me, and one to give away to the community.
I'd pick a good old game ;)
I'd pick an adventure game. What terrifies me is that I'm slowly running out of adventure games to buy on GOG : )

PS. Tonight is the last chance to get a hint if GOG decides to end the hunt tomorrow (they gave two dates - one is today, the other tomorrow). Rules are the same - PM me your 11 findings and you'll get a free hint about the last one.

some of them all most look like they are part of the game and are easy to pass over.
Hands (both) aching, brain hurting, eyes screaming...but all 12 are found. This is not worth the paing though.
Got all 12 in one pass. All of them are obvious. I had three "maybe"s (screenshots with Christmas-y things that may not have been added) and none of them were in the 12.

It seems I already had.

Gothic and Gothic 2, for sure. I've been waiting for their prices to drop to the $6 level (where they belong) and then go on some sort of "Gothic"-themed 60%-off sale. Hasn't happened, so I haven't dropped the cash. Win 'em here, and that's all irrelevant.

Alright that's it, I give in. 11/12 and it's 3 in the morning, no win for me this year!

GOG.com: The contest ends on Tuesday December 25th ...But ...we'll end the contest officially on the 24th.
Since the 24th is already long gone in most of the world and the typo has yet to be corrected, I'd say it's high time for a re-post. Below, my good fellow GOGers, is why these sort of supposed "typos" really appear on GOG.com so very often. From behind the gargantuan, closed and heavily-locked doors of GOG HQ, I bring you a short scene featuring a few moments in the life of the enigmatic T and a lowly staffer who's just trying to get through the day and earn his paycheck.

Perhaps the first of many such short scenes set in the lunatic universe of GOG HQ, this one I call:

"T and the Lost Pants of Sanity"

T stands behind a GOG staffer sitting at his desk, diligently typing out a grammatically (and logically) suspect description for the 2012 Screenshot Scavenger Hunt. The staffer is desperately trying to avoid acknowledging T's presence, as T has recently ingested an enormous amount of cocaine and is scampering about GOG HQ with no idea where he left his pants.

"You know, I love screwing with customers!" T says excitedly.

"Not again," says the staffer, under his breath, continuing to pretend not to notice T while hastily finishing his description. But it's too late.

"No no, say it 'officially' ends a day before the date you just gave!" says T. "Heeheeheee!"

"Oh boy..." says the staffer with a sigh, and T's evil laughter echoes through the halls.

Annoyed, the lowly staffer does as commanded, knowing that this will inevitably come back to him, and he - not the drug-fueled, pantless, somewhat less than semi-enigmatic T - will eventually be the one to have to be critiqued by pineapple-fueled LA GOGer-writers penning short scenes that invent wildly inaccurate but still oddly believable circumstances to explain what is in fact merely an insignificant typo.

And so life goes in the winding, drafty halls of GOG HQ.

Oh lawdy, there's 12? I thought there was only 10...

Ah well, no win for me this year then.
Can I still join and when's the deadline?
I couldn't locate this thread through the search function (terms: screenshot, scavenger and so forth).
Must say that although I eventually found all the images it was quite a task. A lot of fun though, and a new bunch of games on my wish list. So it works out in GOG's favour in the end. :-) Merry Christmas!
