Has anyone else had this issue? I added Gothic 2 Gold as a non-Steam game to my Steam library and when I try to launch the game, it runs the executable but gets "stuck" and won't actually launch the game. I can run the game outside of Steam just fine but I actually wanted it to show up in my Steam library. Does anyone know of workarounds for this kind of issue?
Thanks.

Are you sure you set the folder correctly in that the exe is executed? Compare with your desktop shortcut (if you have one).
While I don't know a workaround for the issue, I just want to point out that it is not a general problem, many GOG games work with the steam overlay. Some don't though, and the same is true for non-GOG games as well.
You're adding your own custom DRM to a non-DRM game?
I've had trouble with almost every single GOG-wrap game running as a Steam shortcut (even the Witcher had extreme mouse issues for me). The lone exception was Duke Nukem 3D, and only as using my GRP file in the EDuke32 source port.

Yes. It's easy to check this in Steam by right-clicking on the name of the game and selecting Properties.

I use Steam and Raptr. The latter does not recognize many Gog games because Gog creates custom DOSbox wrappers for a lot of its older offerings. I like having an overlay that allows me to easily take screenshots and keep track of my playtime.

Is this supposed to highlight that you don't know what DRM is? Adding a no-DRM game to the Steam Library doesn't add DRM.

No DRM gets added to the game by doing this. It's just adding a shortcut to your list of games in the Steam client.

Edit: Uh oh - this is my evil-rep post...
