I finally found out why CDPR is being so generous, Its all part of their plan to take over the world by gifting awesomely, Im onto you Seriously though keep it up.
When I first went to the backup page It was a form where I had to fill in Steam username and such. Now it's a page where you can enter your product key directly...

Did I do it wrong or can I rest easy?

PrisonerofIce: I just redeemed my code. I got a message that the code is correct and got sent to my virtual shelf. However, Witcher 2 isn't there... Does it take some time for the game to register or should I be worried?

TheIronWeasel: I am in the same place. It hasn't showed up on my GOG account after redeeming my code.
Exact same problem here... just redeemed the code but the game doesn't show up.

I think most people are having this problem and it is being looked into. I tried mine was valid but not showing. Hopefully it will be sorted soon.
Same here. I hope the problem gets resolved soon...

It's being added right now, one by one, not to kill / overload the site. It should be on your account soon if not already :)

Mine is already on my shelf :)
I guess loads of people redeemed their codes right away and they simply can't handle it real time. A bit of patience then...
i put my key in and it redeemed first time no problem. maybe its swamped? i know there was some problems with the witcher site earlier so there must be tons of people trying to dl all at the same time but it seems to be ok now.

And i have a different question.
Is it legal/bad/good to sell or trade a retail code for Witcher 2 if you have a gog version already?
How it looks from gog.com perspective?

I would assume that from a legal point of view, they're giving you another copy to use with the same license, not a new license. If you, on the other hand, bought your GOG copy, it would be perfectly fine to hand over your retail license and copy to someone else (for payment ot otherwise).

I think there was a post by TheEnigmaticT saying you are free to give the code away, let me see if I can dig it up.

I'm quite sure that was regarding the code for The Witcher 1. "The code" for The Witcher 2 is your CD key/serial number, meaning the GOG copy you redeem would logically be considered the same license as your physical (or digital from elsewhere) copy.

Unless I understood something wrongly. I didn't apply to be a reviewer for the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 and thus didn't receive a key for The Witcher 1, and I bought The Witcher 2 on GOG as soon as it was available (soon after I got my collector's edition box), so I only have third-party stories to rely on.
