Hi,

I pre-ordered the GOG edition of the Witcher 2 when it was advertised for US$44.99. I have my confirmation email showing the date of my order. By chance I was browsing GOG's facebook site for the Witcher 2. Buried within the comments was the notice that New Zealand customers would be treated to the same game censorship and price increases as their Australian neighbours.

First off, a request to GOG. When things like this occurs, please announce it on your main page. Right now all the news is how Australia is affected. Facebook is not a site I regularly use, and this news has caught me by surprize. Part of me is wondering how many other New Zealander gamers are affected by this and are not aware of it.

Second, can you please confirm how much New Zealanders will be paying for a copy of the Witcher 2 from GOG. Until recently it was US$44.99. I assume that has changed? If so to what? From when does this change take place?

Lastly it would be nice to be told why New Zealand (which does not have the same laws as Australia has) is not receiving the uncensored version of the game.

Thank you.

Raven
If you preordered before yesterday you'll get it at the original price.
So wait, New Zealand users get Australia's censored version? That's ridiculous if it's true. New Zealand has an 18 rating for video games, the lack of which is the whole point of censoring games for Australia.

Some think it's more the publishers working in Australia/NZ that forced CDPR to do this......i'm guessing if the same company is contracted for both countries then that's the real answer.

Which is why I would like GOG to tell us the reason why. Addmittedly there is another thread where the censorship issue for New Zealand is discussed. But whilst a GOG rep briefly popped into that thread from memory, that person didn't comment on why New Zealand is getting a censored game. Costcutting from publishers makes sense, but I'd like to hear it from GOG.

Actually costcutting from publishers doesn't make sense. I'm ordering the game via GOG. I can understand the retail version being censored, but the GOG version? Surely that could be limited to Australian IP's. Don't get me wrong, I think Australian gamers have good reason to be upset, and I don't condone what their government is doing. But New Zealand has a totally different set of laws and shouldn't be subject to another countries censorship.

Regardless, the censorship is minor, even so I'd still like GOG to explain why New Zealand is receiving the censored version.
