It´s too bad that GOG does not allow us to have a virtual wallet. It would make the lives or lots of customers a lot easier.

Are there plans in the future to have a system like this? To me, this would be a dream come true.
ah another suggestion to be steam lite.

Can you explain the advantage of a 'wallet'? How is this better than using a credit/debit card or some payment service like Paypal?

Apparently, some people can't use paypal for reasons and get screwed on every single transaction by their banks: say, the game costs $1.49 and they're paying (a minimum of ) $1 on top of that. And on the other hand, GOG gets screwed on every small transaction, because they have to pay fees for payment processing, and for small purchases (such as single games on sale) these fees are disproportionately large.

I for one don't like the idea personally because it might lead to heightened account security (since people will demand to be able to buy gifts with the money). Logging into steam from the web (I have no use for the client) is a grand PITA. But whatever, people's actual monetary losses trump convenience.

Also, 'wallet' is a stupid fucking word for store credit. Just call it credit.

Various purchases with only one hit in the credit card?

Or what he said above... ;p

As Johnny mentioned, this is already being worked on and will be implemented some time in the future.

Ah yes, I forgot about processing/transaction fees. Luckily, I don't have to worry about that, as there are none charged on my credit cards, so I didn't think of that. Carry on, then.

aside from transaction fees, there are also cases where people get potential fraud locks on their CC's if a large number of small transactions are made from them in a short time (like sales).

Personally I like to have my wallet loaded when a sale happens, it's just simpler, but yeah, it's not real money anymore at that point.
Money? Seems to be the only thing missing

What's with all the hatred this community members have against Steam? Wtf?

You won't see Steam guys spouting hatred against GOG. On the other hand....

I don't hate Steam, and I highly doubt any GOG community member hates it, they just have very opinionated views on DRM and companies monopolizing the whole market.

I personally don't use it, but that's my prerogative, I have some games on Steam (seven, to be precise) that I won via giveaways, but I don't like having the client being mandatory in order to play them. I also dislike the fact that younger gamers see Steam as a video game platform, going as far as mistaking PC gaming for Steam gaming. I won't force anyone to stop using it, but it surely would be nice if people stopped for a bit and thought about their rights as customers and as citizens, overall, and realize Steam violates many of those rights while they keep using it because it's "practical" and "cheap".

As for Steam users not hating GOG, that has a very obvious explanation: Steam gamers aren't even aware GOG exists, all they know is Steam.
