TheEnigmaticT: As a side note, the lack of a good second person plural pronoun in English vexes me again. (Y'all? Youse guys?) For a language with so many words, it's silly English doesn't have that one.
Don't know where y'all are from but . . .round here the plural for "Y'all "is "All Y'all" . . .=)

Smannesman: Well, I can understand immediately taking down the game if it's a legal/license battle.
Waiting a day might tick them off, but posting a message when taking it down (or just after) would be very nice.

TheEnigmaticT: Yeah, we usually have to take down an item from our catalog fairly promptly when asked. So a quick notice that we're *going* to do so is not practicable. That said, I'll be sure to mention y'all's comments to the team--if we ever have to take down a game again.
Please take this in the constructive sense in which it's meant. A quick notice that you are going to take down a game may not be practicable. A notice that you *have* taken down a game (assuming legal issues do not prevent it) is. Letting folks know that a game has indeed been removed and the circumstances surrounding the removal (again, insofar as legality will permit discussion) is a good idea. Don't leave your customers to speculate. They will most likely assume the worst.

Also, be sure to mention the community's comments to the team now. Not if you have to take down a game again. Share the feedback while it's fresh. It's most effective that way.

Again, this is all meant constructively, because I sincerely want to see GOG succeed.

I couldn't agree more.
(And I should know, I've tried)

TheEnigmaticT: If we delisted one of those games without forenotice, we'd already be heartless. :P
Hey, what about Operation Flashpoint GotY edition, which also got removed?

There's people wanting it back here:

TheEnigmaticT: My new arrival here as marketing and PR guy is for many purposes. Fostering continued and improved community relations are part of that.
Could you add stickying stuff (especially in game forums) and updating stickies as part of that? Please? Or hopefully some volunteers can be appointed sooner than later for this purpose. It's sorely needed.

But if "y'all" is short for "you all" (which seems plural to me), then "all y'all" is a plural plural. Does that make it wrap back around to a singular? :P

We're always happy to hear suggestions from you guys. I saw someone wondering in the suggestion box thread a while back if anyone actually reads and cares about your thoughts. Yes, we do--and yes, we do. But GOG has grown tremendously in the last year, and we're feeling some growing pains. We're doing what we can to keep all of our users delighted with the service, and we hope you'll continue to be a part of the community in 2011--and beyond!

That was waaaayyy before my time, but I'll ask around about it. It looks like it's been gone for over a year, so I wouldn't get my hopes up that it's going to make a speedy return soon.

I believe we're finishing up planning for 2011's changes to the community's user experience right now. I don't know if that's on the list (UX isn't marketing's bailiwick), but I'll bring it up.

Wikipedia tries to answer.

I regard "you all" as a singular entity (or a referral to such) that happens to be comprised of multiple sub-entities.

We are the GOG community, resistance is futile.

So Wikipedia's answer is that some people think it's singular and some think it's plural? Wikipedia, I am disappoint.

Great, thanks.
Stickies are integral for a proper community!

hehe . . . Pretty much, it's very versatile as it can be either. Tone determines whether it is being used as a singular / plural . . . = D

OK, thanks for asking around.

Doesn't need to be the GotY, just having the base game OFP:CWC plus the expansion Resistance is enough. The trouble with Codemasters was because of their own developed expansion, Red Hammer.
So if you could get a deal directly with Bohemia Int. to offer the base+exp, then it's fine. No other store sells it in digital form. ;)
Time for a small thread revival I'd say!

I still haven't bought an expensive version of Hostile Waters on eBay because I'm still waiting for the game to return to the storefront here...

So, any updates on the situation? It would be a darn shame if such a forgotten classic would not be granted a place here on GOG.
AHHHH NECRO TOPIC, KILL IT...KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!

No, it's still relevant. I too would like to know what's going on. Sadly, we probably won't get an answer, as GOG is likely under legal obligation not to comment on it while the issue is unresolved. Thankfully, I already own the game from here, but I would hate to see that all future GOGers should be deprived of this wonderful game.
