You still haven't told us what game it is.

Because, you know. We might be able to help you out.

I'd bet it was likely Interstate '76 or Dungeon Keeper 2.

I've said before that I don't want it anymore. Like going to a restaurant and they continue to mess up your food and it just get's to the point after a while that you're tired of waiting and you want a refund. Maybe some credit for the place so you can go back for a better experience. I'm done with dealing with the game and it's crashes. I just want to get something else and move on because I have wasted like 10 hours combined trying to fix this issue and I'm done.

excalibunny: If I was to pirate games like it seems the rest of the internet does I wouldn't have these problems.
Wait, what? You think that a pirated version of this game would work where this one doesn't?
I bet it is Gorky 17 or Silver, read some nasty things about them here.

You got me intrigued, please name the title of the game!

Anyway, you can't really say that the entire gog support is terrible because they couldn't help you with one game, that game may be in particular very hard to play because of different reasons.

BTW, when it comes to customer service it's sort of mandatory (or at least highly recommended) that you list your trial solutions so far so they don't need to cover that you have checked the basics, this speeds up the process a lot. ;)

To be honest I doubt it would be that hard to guess...

Yeah because the only hint we have is that the game is not working for YOU. That basically means it could be any game in the catalogue. That's not a fun guessing game..

EDIT: Oh, I didn't catch that you said it was in Windows 7. Interesting..

I think that this guy don't need it and even don't want it. He just want to cry out loud about evil support. Go ahead and call me offensive, I don't mind.

As topicstarter mentioned, he used to be a GOG user for years and has bought a lot of games here. Notably, a lot of old games, which were not supposed to run on Windows 7 on the release day.
Now it's the first time he faced some trouble with a single game, which is pretty freaking good result for a small company.

As the same topicstarter mentioned, support did actually try to help one way or another. But even now support isn't refusing to help in general — just asking to wait.
But no! Our hero doesn't want to wait. Seems like he doesn't even want to play the game. He wants a refund! Even if it's not possible by policy of the site.

So, if you ask me, I guess that topicstarter just had bought a game which he didn't like. And after he didn't succeed in «returning bad game to store», he came to whine.

Aargh.

1. If all you want is a refund, then why create this thread? _We_ certainly can't give you one. So you're either publicly lashing out in anger, or you're consciously trying to pressurize GOG into giving you a refund by causing a ruckus in the forum. Neither makes me think very highly of your manners, I'm afraid.

2. You keep resorting to this fast food analogy. It may come as a surprise to you, but GOG is not a fast food restaurant, there are substantial differences. These include a) a very limited refund policy, which is explained by the easy exploitability that a more lenient approach would incur, and b) a total inability to make sure that you're not just using the product (and continue to use it after the refund). To bring your fast food analogy to a better fit, consider this: You've been in fast food restaurant, you've ordered and received some food to take with you, you felt there's something wrong with the food, and you threw it away. You're now trying to get a refund from the restaurant staff, who can't tell if you've actually eaten the food or not, and who perhaps haven't received any other complaints about said food on that day. Good luck getting a refund from a restaurant under these conditions.

I don't understand why it seems so difficult for you to understand that a shop that sells DRM free products must necessarily have a limited refund policy. This means that refund are always exceptions, which also explains why not every single support worker has the power to grant them. They might still grant you one if you're indeed such a good customer as you claim (I assume you bought 30+ games here? But we really can't tell.), and if you're in good standing with them. But they certainly don't have to, and they certainly aren't "terrible" just because they need time before such a decision can be made.
