Ghostfromthepast: Come on people. This is a private own company. That won't show us (theirs costumers) any results abou this project.
It would be the same thing like going to a car dealer and ask them to give you ( a potencial buyer), al the economical information and any extra data about it. It doesn't make any sense...

Well, not quite. I do agree that they propably won't give us any financial information or so but showing e.g. number of users, number of bought games etc. can be very, very effective marketing (of course the numbers have to be good enough... mediocre or bad numbers just drive people away)

Ok, i'm not disagreeing with you in any way. Now sorry for hiting on the same key, but do you know of any other service similar to this (steam, impulse, gametap, etc) or diferent where they show these kinds of numbers. I'm sorry for having such a thick skull. :P
I don't think we're ready to share details yet... but for now, let's say we still urge you to tell as many people as possible about the site :). We're still working on a lot of publishers and the greater the success we can point to, the better for negotiations.

Heh :) Why, any community portal quite openly advertises how many people use their service... the more people they can attract more attractive they become to other potential users and investors etc., it's their life blood. Now tell me, is gog.com not about getting more people? Well... not in the same way of course, but getting the word out is in their best interest as well. "Is it a good service? Well 15,000 people use it, so it must be..."
As I said earlier the numbers have to be good to be worth anything and as Vandal here admits, they are not there yet. People attract people... be it people in numbers or in real life.

Hey! Thanks for joining in on the fray! :)

Ok! I won't argue that. :)

Oh, we do. We want you to succeed as well.
I just had a thought. You guys should sell T-shirts. That'd be free advertising, or in fact, profitable advertising. ;-)
EDIT:
Another thought just hit me. If you posted code for a banner on the front page, some people might put it on their websites, directing more people your way.

good idea with those banners, looks like there are lots of adult people visiting GOG, and at least some of them can get those banners to some bigger webs, telling people about GOG is fine, but direct advertisement is better. I found GOG really accidentaly, i even don't remember how, and that is bad, especialy if its CD Project's project, they have really good name in central europe (hope elsewere too).
And I want one T-shirt too.
