ovoon: Ezri deserves the game because he is the forums idiot.
(hope i didn't get the rules wrong)

Catshade: He's banned, isn't he?

I sincerely hope so.

Ah poor Ezri. We took his site down and booted him out into the cold.

And yet he lives on in the constant posts about him.

On certain other sites I used to frequent trolls and spammers were so common they were forgotten about in no time. It's a testament to this site's quaint little village community that such minor disruptions can cause such ripples here.

Not entirely sure why but what you just said reminded me at once of Royston Vasey and Sandford from Hot Fuzz...
There's a big flaw in this setup...
All one has to do to "win" is name a person who is unlikely to post in this threat within 8 hours. By naming Ezri, ovoon has basically guaranteed his own victory.
It wouldn't have to be an unknown or banned person, either. It'd just have to be someone who is generally only on the forums at a certain time of day, which is probably true for most of the people here. For instance, Gradgh tends to post between the hours of 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM ET, so in theory I could name him after he logs out and the game would pretty much be mine.
Also, I'm slightly irritated that no one named me. Maybe I should be more active...

I had just mentioned Hot Fuzz in the movie thread. So it was on my mind when I wrote that. The League of Gentlemen as a forum... a local forum for local people.

Only ovoon wasn't named so he doesn't stand a chance of winning at the moment. But otherwise, you're quite correct.

Trolls are relatively uncommon here, so they are remembered because they're something out of the ordinary. Like in a small village, where a stranger visits quickly and leaves but don't really do much else than perhaps buy a loaf of bread, yet the talks go around the village for weeks or months about him.
Well technically if each individual couldn't name the same person twice (the rules don't actually say this) then eventually everyone would run out of people to name but it would just take a really really really long time...
yeah yeah yeah, these things would all be problems on forums where the members were all typical internet forum members, but this is gog
people here will do this for the fun of it, not to grab a game for themselves
and if that's not the case, we will simply call the offender out for it and mock him forever. problem solved.

You've get the rules wrong: "whoever you choose has to be an active participant in the GOG General forums, preferably with a rep of over 10."
"preferably" may be not a strict condition, but... Ezri's rep is actually -12...
Well TECHNICALLY that is over 10, just that its over negative 10.
Either way I think ezri is a null vote and ovoon should have to re-pick

Wait, isn't it Fenixp's turn? ...or something?

False. -8 > -10. -12 < -10.

It seems that way, unless I've missed something.
