REALLY stupid question, is "casual games" referring to an actual brand or to any game that can be deemed as casual?

I think he means the vague genre called "Casual games"

GOG should start offering classic games.

If it's cheap and you can play it on a phone/tablet it's probably a casual game.


I'd say it's the pinnacle of shovelware gaming, I don't know if that means it transcended being shovelware or not though.

My mother actually stopped using Big Fish because of their DRM. She doesn't even know what DRM is but they forced her to stream some games and then bugged her about activations and she just stopped going there. I thought it was amusing.

Anyway... Amazon has a ton of casual games and from what I understand they don't sell very well anymore. I think that whole market migrated to phones, which is why Popcap has basically disappeared on PC.

I always considered games like Goblins and VVVVVV to be that way. Those are ones I pop in and play for a second or two when I'm tired or doing something else or just trying to kill a few minutes. The way I see it, GOG does carry casual games.

The OP thinks (and in most cases mine) that if GOG sells more Casual games like Angry Birds DRM free, they can make enough money to get the rights to really hard classic games to get like Grim Fandango or even modern games like Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect and Far Cry 3 and Arma 3.

But than GOG will redesign this website to be more suitable for Phones and Tablets thus screwing over Desktop/Laptop users.

Well, I wanted to add that they're usually easy enough so that even your mom can still play them, but I was afraid were you would take the argument as soon as I mentioned her ;D

I don't care about Angry Birds or games made for phones or tablets . I was talking about games that were made for Pc / Mac .

I thought they already did, when they introduced that new gamecard design recently. :P

I did not question why they should not sell them here, I was questioning why they should sell them so much cheaper here.

Actually, that's a fair argument, in that I get where you are coming from and understand the point. Yeah, the games I mentioned aren't on the easy side, but then neither is Minesweeper and when I googled "Casual Games" that was one of the first that came up. Ditto for Spider Solitaire and FreeCell. I'm not trying to be difficult or a pain in the ass I just don't know if the OP makes a convincing argument that GOG needs to get something when in many regards it already has that something.

I will say I wouldn't turn my nose up at Bejeweled, Peggle, or Luxor but there are so many free clones of those games out there already I don't see the need to bring them here.
