I think xyem is quite busy at the moment, so as a precautionary measure, could you please PM me your gift codes and what's in them? That way, I can send out the codes myself on Christmas Day (I know some places celebrate on the 24th, but I'm using the UK date of the 25th here) if necessary.

With around 6 weeks to go to Christmas, I think it's time to get this up and running again. For those who missed last year's event, check out last year's festive frenzy of giving to see what went down!

I've discussed ideas with a few people from the community, and the general consensus seems to be to keep it as simple as possible, and as this is the GOG community, we'll stick to GOG games.

Like last year, you'll be randomly assigned a person to buy a gift for and I'll contact you with a list of games to pick from. An email address will be provided shortly for you to send the gift code to. The GOG Secret Santa will then distribute all the gifts on Christmas Day.

To participate, you'll need to provide a wishlist (and commit to buying a game for someone else). You can either post your wishlist on the GOG Wiki, post it in this thread, or PM the list of games you're interested in to me. Please provide a mixture of game prices so people have a choice about how much they want to spend!

Instructions:

1. Wishlists should be finalised by Saturday 15 December;
2. On Saturday 15 December, everyone who wants to participate will be assigned another participant at random;
3. You should buy this person a gift from their wishlist (you will get a PM with this information);
4. Send the gift to gog-secretsanta(at)electricjungle(dot)org, remembering to put the name of the recipient in the message (so xyem knows who to send it to);
5. On Tuesday 25 December, a shiny new game or two will appear in your inbox! :)

Yeah, this was brought up in both the 2010 and 2011 edition of GOG Secret Santa, but we've not had any problems yet. If necessary, a bit of gift code juggling will go on so that everybody gets something they want. :) Are you the real K_1269? ;)

This is a good question. I'd like to participate, but I don't know how much money I could spend. If I could buy games during GOG's christmas promo, it would be better.

For now, I'm not sure if I will be able to participate, but I hope I will. :)

Yep, the deadline would be 24 December to get your gift codes in. If you sign up, but don't send a gift code for another participant, then the gift assigned to you will be distributed to someone else. You did pretty well out of last year's event! ;)

And I definitely don't want to end up like last year... I want to participate like every other GOGer, but don't want to gift only one game too. :)
