With only 5 weeks to go to Christmas, I think it's time to get this up and running again. For those who missed last year's event, check out last year's festive frenzy of giving to see what went down!

I've discussed ideas with a few people from the community, and the general consensus seems to be to keep it as simple as possible, and as this is the GOG community, we'll stick to GOG games.

Like last year, you'll be randomly assigned a person to buy a gift for and I'll contact you with a list of games to pick from. An email address will be provided shortly for you to send the gift code to. The GOG Secret Santa will then distribute all the gifts on Christmas Eve.

To participate, you'll need to provide a wishlist (and commit to buying a game for someone else). You can either post your wishlist on the GOG Wiki, post it in this thread, or PM the list of games you're interested in to me. Please provide a mixture of $5.99 and $9.99 games so people have a choice about how much they want to spend!

Any questions? Post them here, and I'll do my best to answer them!

Don't forget your wishlists!

Instructions:

1. Wishlists should be finalised by Saturday 17 December;
2. On Saturday 17 December, everyone who wants to participate will be assigned another participant at random;
3. You should buy this person a gift from their wishlist (you will get a PM with this information);
4. Send the gift to gog-secretsanta(at)electricjungle(dot)org, remembering to put the name of the recipient in the message (so xyem knows who to send it to);
5. On Saturday 24 December, a shiny new game appears in your inbox! :)

Any questions?

If I can send the gift after, say, 12th December (I should get my payment at that time), then I will gift one $5.99 or $9.99 game, maybe two.

And I don't need to be gifted anything, because I wanted to make a small giveaway (within my limted financial possibilities) anyways and I've decided to participated here instead.

Just PM me if there is anything to gift and I'll do it.
I'm in. I'd prefer a 5,99 dollar gift.

I'm not sure that would work; the idea is that everyone buys and receives a gift. If someone opts out of receiving a gift, then someone else wouldn't have to buy anything, which kind of defeats the purpose.

I do have an alternative suggestion that could work: you could choose to buy a $9.99 game for someone and choose to only receive a $5.99 game - that way you're still in effect giving away $4! Would that work?

I forgot to mention in the original post; all gifts are of course anonymous (you won't know who has bought you the gift) since codes will be distributed by the GOG Secret Santa email address (or PM if Mr Enigmatic allows us to create a user account for the purpose of this seasonal celebration).
I'm in, just give me some time to update my wishlist on the GOGwiki.
I'm in and like SimonG I am still updating my wishlist on the GOGWIki.

OK, I can't get the WIki to show my updated wishlist...how do?

Yeah, I went to that page. I know the command <gog-wishlist user="JudasIscariot /> but even after I updated my wishlist on GOG it still shows my my old selections...
