dirtyharry50: LOL! I have that "problem" too but it isn't one I complain about... too much!

Very nice of you to put up that key. I have it myself but +1 for your kindness to someone. :D
It must be some kind of epidemic, maybe a computer virus :-)

Am just having fun, and thanks.

Retrostage: Never thought of sending an email to describe a problem?
Ever thought of not digging up the graves?

gameon: And spam in the review sections which have been there for months if not years. On several different games there is random sales spam, which even when "reported" does not seem to get deleted.
I think it would be very beneficial to GOG if they appointed international community moderators/administrators who would technically be the staff, but would not be paid and would offer their help out of their goodwill and readiness to help GOG maintain a good image by managing the sections of the site the staff cannot handle.

I am confident there are people with excellent potential for the task here!

Densetsu: international community moderators/administrators
Yeah, because that works fucking great on steam.

Having community moderators could really screw things up here. Usually, it does.

Unrelated problem with installers:

Some of them complain that my install directory contains GOG.com (they complain about the dot).

Thing is, I created this install path back when no installer complained about the dot.

Workaround:

I change the install path to GOG_com, do the install, revert it back to GOG.com and then change the shortcuts so that they point to the right directory.

So far, I haven't needed to play in the registry to correct erroneous paths in there (ie, pointing to GOG_com). Thank goodness for that.

It's more of an annoyance than a complete deal breaker, but getting it fixed would be nice.

All i would ask for is the ability to delete spam reviews. Those obvious ones that include random sales links for fake gucci and the likes. That would clean the reviews up nicely.

Anything is better than having it there for months on end. If someone actually clicked on on of their sales links, who knows what awaits them?

Usually spambot's and zombie botnets with MALWARE which downloads and installs itself on your PC without you knowing and it can survive a full system wipe and reinstallation of windows.

As someone who has fixed many pc's for people i know how much of a pain it is to fix those sorts of things!
Yep! real pain you need to keep rewiping the Hdd for about 20 times or so! re F-disc it and everything!

Then all you need is 15 people to not like you and you get censored. Or one person with 15 accounts..

It should always be reviewed by a person to take action. Community moderators can act as a filter between the community and GOG staff so the staff only see valid reports. They don't have to have any power like deleting posts, locking threads or banning people!

They aren't moderating the forum, they are moderating what the GOG staff have to look at.
