CRISIS CRISIS CRISIS

Oh they fixed it in like 10 minutes...

CRISIS CRISIS CRISIS
I had a little issue with the new HOMM 1 installer just now ( the one ending in .34) installed the game and none of the buttons on the main menu worked, had to unistall and re install

So did they really, actually fix it that fast?

wow, that's pretty impressive

Of course, it doesn't excuse the fact that they screwed up but I'm quite impressed that they reacted that fast towards this issue

JudasIscariot: Actually, it should be fixed. You should be getting an update flag any minute now :D.

To everyone else, we apologize for the mix up on this one. We have everything working as it should be now.

Alfie3000: Have HoMM 3 & 4 finally been patched to run on only one core yet? There has been MANY threads in the HoMM section for YEARS about the game crashing on multi-core CPU's and GOG even has the solution on it's support section http://www.gog.com/support/heroes_of_might_and_magic_3_complete_edition/frequent_crashes
Battle Isle Platinum. Has Incubation been patched yet? http://www.gog.com/forum/battle_isle/bug_report/post5
Has Dragonsphere been fixed yet? It crashes because the core setting in the config isn't correctly set http://www.gog.com/forum/dragonsphere/freezing_when_leaving_screens/post2
"Panzer General 2", "Panzer General 3D Assault" and "Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader" have Multiplayer. It's not on their game cards.

All I can think of right now.
The new installer for HoMM 3 fixes the multi-core issue. I haven't been able to find the exact same topic on HoMM4 so could I ask you to send any pertinent info along to Support and it will get passed to the right people? Thanks :D.

We just uploaded a new version of the installer for Dragonsphere that will no longer crash due to the core settings.

Hey guys, you should really search through game related topics for bug reports. It seems that you can fix some of them right away, but they are hanging there forever because you forgot about them :P

This is why we stress that folks should send us support emails about issues. It makes everything a lot easier for us since there are quite a few forums now, topics that don't get bumped up to the top get buried. Like I said: send an email to our Support team.

Never thought of sending an email to describe a problem?
If it doesn't get reported I say don't work on it. Use the system that has been set up to handle issues or don't cry about it. If someone e-mails me directly or leaves me a phone message instead of e-mailing or calling our service desk - I tend to let the issue / request sit for weeks without a response.

I have more important things to do than be someone's personal Help Desk Tech.

Did you really need to necro this post with a comment that had already been addressed in the post above yours by someone at GOG?

This is a done deal, all fixed, etc.

I hope you don't work in retail, at least at the customer service level. While I appreciate your frustration with people that don't act upon their own problems, excellent customer service is proactive and helps them anyway. It's just good basic business practice.

Anyway, the point was made and noted, emailing support certainly helps to resolve issues as it did in this case where i did that and posted here.

dirtyharry50: Stuff like screwed up forums

Pardon the rant. I love this place. I really do and I guess that is why it frustrates me when they fail at basic stuff.
And spam in the review sections which have been there for months if not years. On several different games there is random sales spam, which even when "reported" does not seem to get deleted.

Also, EVERY time i post a link to someone in a pm, it gets <br> added to it, so it breaks the link. It's something i've complained about for months and months, it's still broken.

The main thing with the new installers is to keep everything you can out of c:\Program Files*\

knowing the fallout thing is fixed makes me super happy! -- re downloading now!
I would just like to say I've put HoMM 1-3 on my toshiba satellite with no issues. The sound is a little strange sometimes on 2. Other than that I've had no issues I can recall.

Gog keeps screwing me up too.

I don't know what the problem is, but every time I click on a certain sequence of keys, a little bit of money disappears, and I get some kind of cryptic message with some kind of code on it.

If anyone could help me figure it out, I would appreciate it.

An example is listed below:

Sacred Gold:

To stay on topic, changelogs would be nice, to help me determine if I wanted the update or not.

Edit to remove code

LOL! I have that "problem" too but it isn't one I complain about... too much!

Very nice of you to put up that key. I have it myself but +1 for your kindness to someone. :D
