1. Sega Dreamcast - Had impressive tech specs for a console at the time
2. Amiga - Had superior gaming graphics for home computers until Doom and other games from the early to mid 90s came out on the PC and proved that DOS could do gaming as good or better than Mas OS Classic or Amiga OS
3. Sega Genesis - Brought arcade games like Altered Beast to the console that resembled the arcade (especially in graphics) more than other consoles at the time of Sega's launch of the Genesis gaming console

1. Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
Well, obviously SNES first-party is out since Nintendo abhors the idea of their games on non-Nintendo platforms, but it'd be a great thing to see more 3rd party SNES games. It was the final console where people could find something for every possible taste.
2. PlayStation 1
Like the SNES, first party titles aren't going to come here, but there were too few noteable 1st party titles for this to matter. This is about reviving third party classics like Suikoden I and II, Tail Concerto, and Persona II: Eternal Punishment.
3. Sega Saturn
The system got way too little love, even less than the Dreamcast, but with a wealth of under-appreciated games like Panzer Dragoon Saga and Fighters' Megamix, the Saturn would be a great addition to the GOG library.

Well, if it's anything like DOSBox, I imagine emulator authors would be compensated at least a bit for the use of their programs, but most likely, GOG'll have to work with the games' creators to drum up emulators.

Okay, but how is that really any different than the fact GOG is selling PC games running in a DosBox shell? DosBox is free software, and it's being used in games being sold.

If you can: Sega Saturn. Go bug GameTap for the Panzer Dragoon Saga license since they refuse to make any use of it. Also, Sega are whores. They'll give you permission to sell anything. So, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear is the way to go.

DOSBox and ScummVM is under the GPL. So all thats needed really in that case is the license and specific acknowledgement. Which GOG.com has been vocal about, which is great for DOSBox's publicity.
What I am wondering about to be more precise is the *freeware* emulators, like what mine will be. The one's which forbid commercial use, unless under some commercial agreement. And so, is CD Projekt willing to go into negotiations with the developers in that case, or will they violate the license and use them regardless. :)

If CD Projekt want to use your emulator then they will probably attempt to come to an agreement with you. However if they talk to say Sega and Sega have their own emulator then GOG will use that.

Sounds great :) That fills me with some confidence at least when my emulator is ready for prime time.

Nintendo because they pioneered the videogaming era as we know it.
Saturn because there were a lot of VERY good games that just didn't get enough exposure.
PS1 becuase the PS3 network is overlooking some of the greatest RPG titles.
