Hey there!

I just found out about this site like two days ago, and I must say that I really think it's great! You guys got rid of two things that really started to annoy me: drm & privacy issues. Congrats!

There's only one little thing that I really don't like: I appreciate the fact that you guys offer free games, but is it really necessary to view all of them in "my collection"? Seriously? I have never expressed any interest in those games and yet I am forced to look at their covers everytime I want to download one of my actual games. This is so annoying. When I bought my first game, I was wondering where I could download it, since it took me a couple minutes to figure out that it was actually to be found among like ten free games in "my collection". So please, at least seperate paid and free games using tabs or some kind of menu!

Other than that - this site is great! And once you guys added the German classic game "The Sting!" this site will be really perfect! ;-)

Best regards,
baerenfaenger

There is an hide game option.
You can sort your games list into a custom order, so just put the free ones at the start, and let the rest appear at the end.

I'd suggest this site is neither genious or genius. It's actually been staring the world in the face for a while, it's just CDPR had the balls and the commitment to actually do it.

Pros: DRM free, Mostly cheap, and fun.

Cons: I do feel for my international brethren who complain that the multilingual versions of the games don't get released.
Click on a game that you don't want to see on your shelf and look on the bottom of the panel that appears for the words "hide game". This will remove the game from your shelf. If you ever change your mind and want it back, you can check the "show hidden games" checkbox at the bottom of your shelf to make the game visible, and then unhide the game the same way that you hid it.

You know, I just found myself trying to read your post upside down.

I feel this reflects my growing insanity rather than your avatars influence.
Oh man, this community is great, too. Thanks for your advice!

Welcome to GOG. Be sure to buy Sacrifice, it's the most underrated game ever, and costs just 5.99$ here on GOG:

*A hide game...

Calling the free games garbage is going a bit far, don't you think?
Treasure Adventure Game is really a lot of fun. Though most of the other free games you have to like the really old classics.

Beneath a Steel Sky is also awesome if you like adventures, on a par with Lucus Arts' efforts IMO

That and the GOGmix feature is completely broken, and, from what I've heard, will likely never get fixed. I really, really, really hope that what they'll do is just remove it entirely and leave in some hooks for the GOGwiki to plug into.

That's what we said about the wishlist too, and look what they did!

Only after three years.

So judging by that, we should get new features that most other places have by 2020. Cool!

I started it a little bit and got stuck I think. Have to give it a better shot some time. =)

The German version of The Sting (Der Clou) was actually made freeware back in 2000.

If you google "Der Clou freeware" you will find a lot of places that offer free, legal downloads of the game. Just launch the game in DOSBox and you're good to go.
