cogadh: Same here, its doing the same thing it was doing last night. It doesn't 404 or time out, it just doesn't load.
EDIT - And now its working...
EDIT 2 - Hey Barefoot, in addition to the delete function, how about implementing the traditional inbox/outbox/sent items structure of most PM systems? I just realized I have no way of seeing who I have sent messages to and it would be nice to see that, if only so I can remember the things I've said while drunk PMing.
The site is running on a shared server, and I got a notice from the admins that the server's hardware is straining because one of the websites running on it is going overboard with mysql queries. That's why it goes really slow sometimes and doesn't always load. Hopefully they'll get the problem sorted out soon. If its not fast and reliable again in a few days I'll start looking for another hosting company.
Regarding seeing sent mails, I actually have a todo list that currently has the following items:
- Delete messages
- View sent messages (right now we can only see received messages)
- See which sent messages have been read
- Delete unread sent messages (this might be especially useful for those drunk PMs of yours)
- Blacklist
- Optional email notification when you receive a message
- Adjustment to stylesheets and presentation (in particular, for navigation and for notifications such as when it tells you that your message has been sent. Also, a sprinkling of CSS3 transitions would be nice)
CalamityRanger: The site does load for me but each time I make the password, the same each time and then try to log in it tells me that my password is different than what is on file. :(
Darling_Jimmy has also been having problems. I think I have an idea of what might be happening and how to fix it. I'll look into this and let you know. In the meantime, try using passwords with only alphanumeric characters and see if that helps.
hedwards: This is interesting, but how on Earth are we going to know who we can PM? I mean it's not like we can put a link in a sig.
You can PM to any GOG username. If you send a message to someone who hasn't registered yet then you get a message letting you know that they're not on GogPM yet, but you can send the message anyway and then when they register the message will be sitting there in their inbox.
For example, let's say I want to send a message to Weclock. I start composing a message to him and see
this . So I carry on writing the message and send it, then go to the forums and say "Hey Wec, I sent you a PM on GogPM! Go register so you can read it!".
