Zchinque: Code's been used (not by me). Thanks, still!
I got to it, had a think about it, and thought, i don't want to play through a long rpg (which beyond divinity is supposed to be, and i already have divine divinity).

I guess the code would have stayed with me to redeem until i pressed cancel. I just did that, so hopefully someone will get to it soon.

It takes about 10 mins to get back to being available. Keep trying. Unless someone else gets there.

Davane: As an infinite virtual media, the games themselves can be sold and redistributed indefinately, without the loss of the original copy. It costs nothing to make additional copies after the first. This is an important aspect for all digital distribution methods, because you only ever have original expenses to create the material in the first place, after which profits are unending, even when they slow to a trickle. This is a snowball effect.

Starmaker: 1. The infrastructure costs money. 2. Even positing free infrastructure, profit can (and does) fold into a finite sum if you account for inflation, unless the work in question is a "classic". Inflation is exponential. 3. Opportunity costs are real. 4. GOG and Larian are not idealists, they knew people would be buying DD for $0.01, and they expect to gain some advantage from it. Only they will know if/when the plan succeeds, but it is not risk-free.
1. If you are maintaining the infrastructure anyway, then there is no real additional cost for extra "free" products depending upon the set up of the infrastructure. Third party systems often have accounts for a certain number of products, for example - unless you need to upgrade your account to account for the product, you are already using the infrastructure already. Likewise if you are self-hosting your sales infrastructure - unless it requires an increased investment, such as an increase in server capacity, there is no cost for the additional product.

2. While inflation can eat into revenue, profits will not fold into an finite sum. This is because prices can be adjusted for inflation, and all such works are instantly "classic" - as long as you keep advertising your work, which you can do through continuing to work, people will still pick them up. The actual good old games on GOG.com are testament to this. What is more of a factor is redundancy through changes in medium.

3. Opportunity costs are NOT real. While useful in decision-making, opportunity costs are the sort of negative thinking that actually holds people back, because it is simply a different term for regret. You cannot control the public, so opportunity costs are purely theoretical.

4. GOG and Larian might not be idealists, but they do have a progressive business mindset. That is what you need to succeed in any industry. It may not be risk-free, but should such plans succeed, they will have an impact on future plans, and even become pioneering examples for other businesses to follow. There's always a risk in being "the purple cow" but those that succeed become noteworthy and leaders of their market sector.

It says partially redeemed and you think it might reset? Until then it looks like Beyond Divinity has been redeemed and Divine is remaining.

edit: it says that Nergal01 redeemed Beyond and Divine is remaining. I guess it may never be used as long as you can get your own for $.01 :)

That's what is supposed to happen. I clicked cancel, and it wasn't added to my collection. The Redeeming does reset, but if someone else has just redeemed one of the games, then there would still be one remaining if they already own 1 of the 2 games.

Yes, Nergal01 got it.

The code will still be valid for anyone that doesn't have it though. I'm not sure how long a code will be valid for, but someone will probably get it.
So where's the LMK demo?
the code is Valid Indefinitely until all games are redeemed
edit: redeemed by triock - enjoy the game :)
