Khalaq: I am wondering... The Anthology package supposedly includes Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity updated in hi-res for Windows 7. Is this something different than what we had, before, or is Larian Studios putting out new versions of the games? I suppose the GOG versions of the game might already be hi-res for Windows 7, and that would mean that Larian might just be including the GOG versions of the games in their Anthology package. If that's not the case, will our GOG versions be updated to reflect what Larian is now publishing? It's enough to make one's head spin. Anyone on GOG Staff want to clarify this? -Khalaq
A very good question that I would like confirmation on as well as I already own the first Divinity GOG version.

mobutu: I'm 100% sure that GOG versions of DD and BD will be updated to those in the Anthology pack, keeping the same retail price of $5.99 (Windows 7 remastered and supporting HD resolutions).
I hope you are right, but how can you be sure? If these are some new remastered HD versions, I would actually be surprised if GOG would offer them "for free" for the existing customers, at least if no other DD services don't.

Anyway, if the old versions still run fine in Win7, I probably won't be at least buying the "hires versions".

I would be surprised if GOG would not offer them for free.
It's logical.
The Anthology pack (with HD remastered W7 versions of DD and BD) has a MSRP of $30. on larian and stim.
on GOG DD its $6, BD its $6 and DII:DC its $20 so a total of $32 on GOG.
So it's logical and normal that DD and BD would be upgraded for free to the HD remastered W7 versions found inside the Anthology pack.

This is also alternatively known as the thread where I point and laugh at anyone who has ever badmouthed or doubted me

Way back in April made a thread urging gamers and especially Divinity II fans to "Sound the Alarm" and due to very good reasons as well, here is the thread

I was previously completely right regarding other games
I was previously completely right regarding my predictions Divinity II
Why would I be wrong in this case?

Fast forward to October, Divinity II comes out on gog.

Oh would you look at that, I turned out to be completely right as always.

I have DivDiv and BeyDiv here on GOG, DKS on GG and yesterday i ordered the trilogy box from Larian's Vault. I would love a copy of Divinity 2 on my gog shelf but at the price the PWYW is set at to unlock Divinity 2...well, i really can't justify spending that much. The PWYW is likely a good concept to experiment with but it seems this one has a few rough edges to it.

Sorry, i'll have to skip this one.

DARN YOU GOG!

I've ummmmed and arred and never really settled on liking the Divinity series games 1 and 2 - not bad just not always my cup of tea as it were when I tried the demos.

That said a game where I can fly around as a dragon -- even if only in some parts (without cheating) is tempting --- very tempting--- sooo tempting...

well, the MSRP of the Anthology pack is $29.99 and that includes DD, BD and DII:DC.
and right now you can buy it on GOG for $21.99
far away from that 30 pounds

The GOG Way: everyone's DD and BD will be updated, no matter when you bought them. They'll take the high-res versions, test them, and wrap them up in nice delicious glossy innosetup bundles. Everyone's "DD" download section in "My Games", provided it exists at all, will contain the same files.

Whether the new versions will completely replace the old versions, or will the old versions become "extras" of a sort - this I don't know. So, backing up DD/BD today.

Already have non-GOG copies of DD, BD, and D2, but GOG versions would definitely be nice.

I don't know if I'll be able to match the average price though, desperately trying to save cash for Project Eternity.

Nice to see this on GOG, I completely expected it to be entirely Steam or whichever other platforms are hosting it.

Small word of warning here regarding Divinity 2.

It is a very good game. It is fun, it has a nice world, decent storyline and it can hook you up. It also can make you throw up due to motion sickness and the inability to change its FOV. You have been warned.

We're currently working to add all of the updates you mentioned and will be done by tomorrow.
