I'm sure a lot of gamers face this decision.
I love GOG but, I have to tolerate Steam, I am finding it difficult not to buy some early access games on Steam if they go on special offer, I want to buy them on GOG for no DRM and to actually own them but, they may never be available here so should I take the deal or just wait in hope?
I can't really afford to buy a second copy if they eventually do come to GOG or if they do it would be very frustrating to just keep waiting until they are discounted if ever to the current Steam deal.
This happened to me with Sir You are Being Hunted fortunately, according to the devs the Steam copy has no DRM and the game files can be moved to another computer and booted from the exe without Steam being present but, I'm sure this is a rare situation for a Steam game.
I am sure most early access games are tied in to specific distributors by contract
