Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare!
except they seem to have pulled it for now.
It was up for a few minutes but the gamecard didn't work :p
I've noticed it too. It's a new marketing strategy game!
"Find the new release first and get a free copy of it!"
This happens now and then. Consider yourself lucky to see it!
Wasn't new nightmare that really shitty one from 2-3 years ago?
I want Obscure back ;_;

Maybe not exactly "shitty", but it sure had some mixed reviews. Also, it's been more than 2-3 years since its release, so maybe you're thinking about something else?
I mean the one that also came out on 360 & ps3 and the most positive thing I ever read about it was that the fire was really well done
Maybe it was this one? The date is right (it's from 2008), and critics seem to not have liked it. Also, it came out for the X360.

No it's the shitty one from 9 years ago. In fact I'd say this one is even a tad worse.
They should have gotten the original three games. Now those would really fit on GOG.
Oh. Yay.
I played AitD 4 for an hour or two, and then quit. It combined everything I hated about Resident Evil with nothing that I liked about Alone in the Dark.
If it is the new nightmare then it is actually a good game. The first half is amazing if i remeber it correctly. It has the same structure and "puzzle" gameplay as resident evil 1. You can choose between a man or a woman and you both take a different route through a mansion. But unlike RE where you shoot zombies with your weapons, light is a lot more important (cfr alan wake). It had great graphics for the time, a decent story and great atmosphere and both routes gives you part of the story. This part (the mansion part) is really great. AGAIN IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. The second part (is actually a lot shorter) takes you somewhere else (I don't want to spoil where, not that is matters but still), and that was not so good and more action oriented, i think. If this should go for 5.99 it should be an instant buy for everyone who likes survival horror adventure type games.
EDIT: it seems that while i was praising this game a lot of people reported they didn't like it. I still remember it as a great game BUT it was probably the first of it's kind (survival horror) that i played. I instantly liked the gameplay and fell in love with RE short thereafter. I guess it is only to be recommended for people who like the oldschool RE games.

Yes the first 3.
I only beat 1 (back when it came out) and loved it and played a bit of 2.

The first three were kind of special as in a first of their kind way. As i already posted i really think AitD4 is a good RE clone and the last one had an awesome opening level but once it lost it linearity in central park all the bad things that were manageable due to linearity (controls, camera, inventory system) ruined the game. I never played much further in the park so maybe it got better but i played the beginning multiple times.
