Pick some sort of picture from the interwebs or create just an image with a text that says your song's title or something. I had the same problem, so I just started looking for good pics on DeviantArt and ask the artists whether I could use their image in a YT upload. Then open any video editing program like Windows Movie Maker, put your audio in there and let the image be visible as long as the song plays or something.

And as for the recording quality - on YT there's lots of musicians including rather popular ones who use absolute low-end hardware, even webcams, to record their performance. So that's not really an issue.

Edit: Oh yeah, also Newgrounds has a decent audio portal. You don't need a pic or video to upload your stuff there. It takes some luck to get many plays there, occasionally people will downrate stuff for no reason (which is a little disappointing at first) but there's always a chance that many people will hear your stuff there. When uploading audio there you agree to a creative commons license but that's a good thing in my experience. Thanks to this a decent amount of my tracks can be heard in YT videos.

I'm only a drummer too, so I haven't written much of my own material. :-| Some other dude on youtube who does covers like I got some of his videos taken down for "copyright" reasons, so I'm not sure it would let me.

I'm a composer, but my workstation recently decided that rendering audio tracks was too much work and quit on me. Luckily, the hard drives made it, so I'm not forced to sift through backup files to rebuild.

The only music I have on the internet is a piece I did for the still-incomplete open source remake of Imperialism. You can find it along with some of my artwork here.

That's why I only cover game music. The composers usually retain all rights to their stuff and normally aren't douchebags like some pop or rock artists. :P

I haven't been performing for about a year and a half-two years due to life stuff (band broke up, moved across country, got married, and all that jazz). But, I have recorded a song or two since then.

I have a vocal audition I did for a animated series. It's still in developement, so nothing's released yet. I have the parts of 2 main characters and random secondary/background characters.

It does. It's what I did until a girl I had a crush on forced me into recording something I could show her after I bragged about playing the piano. The girl's gone, I've become a semi-professional musician in the process though. :P

Until about 18 months ago, I led a band called Odd Normality. We were a three piece instrumental rock band. I wrote the music for it and it was a lot of fun.

I've been thinking about finding an Indie music bundle to see if they would accept the album. I can find some extras to include with it. We had about 2 or 2 1/2 hours of music, but only got to record a little more than 30 minutes worth.
Awesome! I have one that was built from a kit decades ago. A little different from a real theremin. Not as good, but still fun to play.

I play rhythm octave mandola in a ceilidh band (and with friends and at sessions for fun).

I also play a fair few other instruments with varying degrees of proficiency both recreationally and for silly recording projects (mostly just for fun). I also make a bit of computer generated music, but mainly for the purposes of arranging with an intention of either re-recording the parts with real instruments or performing it with the aforementioned band.

We as a band haven't done any recording yet (the whole point of a ceilidh band is live music) but we hope to at some point, even if only as demos to give people an idea of what we sound like.

I've been a wannabe musician for about 5, 6 years or so (actively; if counted from the very beginning, then about 11 years. Although it is still very much just a hobby, for the most part).
