"No, wait, you've got it all wrong. I can explain. I'm the --" started fexen, before he was interrupted by nmillar.

"You're the scummiest scum I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of scum. Well, not really. But I have heard a lot of stories about scum and you look like you just came out of one. And not as the hero, mind you."

"But actually, I'm the--"

"The bane of our existence," growled Rodzaju as he grabbed the huge pewter teapot that was merrily whistling in front of the fireplace. His arm described an arc in the air and the hot metal clashed with fexen's skull with a sickening sound, spilling boiling water all over his body and scalding what remained of his face. Fexen's screams for mercy sent a shiver down your collective spines, and you were thankful when TwilightBard put an end to them by stabbing fexen's heart with a letter opener that was lying on the mantelpiece.

Gathering around fexen's corpse, you watched as nmillar knelt down and started digging in his pockets. And you saw with disbelief that fexen's pockets were stuffed full -- of packets upon packets inscribed "Black pepper".

"Tear one open! It must be drugs!" someone shouted.

Nmillar opened the packet... and sneezed.

"Bless him, poor fellow. He was one of the good guys, after all."

As the new day began, you returned to the palace hall to continue in your desperate attempts to uncover the mystery. Exchanging nervous greetings and suspiciously eyeing each other for signs of a lack of sleep that could indicate someone was up and about (or had a nightmare, which was, after all, just as likely), you quickly noticed someone was missing. Robbeasy. How could he have overslept?
There was only one thing to do: you all went to his room. You could of course send just one person you trust, but well, there is no one to trust. You tried knocking very loudly on Robbeasy's door, but to no avail. Then someone tried the handle and found the door was unlocked.
Inside, it looked as if Robbeasy exploded overnight. His misshaped body was torn to pieces that were thrown carelessly all over the room, with his overturned empty shell lying sadly in the corner. Every surface of the room was covered with splashes of blood and bits and pieces of what used to be the organs and limbs of the poor fellow who so much wanted to be a turtle but, alas, was not.
You turned away from this gruesome spectacle and returned to the hall. There was the same thought running through the heads of all of you: who's next?

Interesting, Robbeasy was kiled. I can't figure out why mafia chose him. They knew we wolud probably have to waste lynch or vig on him so why they NKed him?
Maybe he's got good reads on players, I have to reread his posts.

Are you serious? We were running out of time. That's why people taken opportunity and lynched fexen quickly. Now it's hard to accuse anyone of speedlynching when we were under pressure and trying to avoid nolynch.
I don't see too much discussion either. You said it yourself. Fexen even had no space to claim and this is in my opinion poorly carried out lynch. I am not saying claim would save him, probably not, but he should at least get the opportunity.

Or inexperienced mafia perhaps? In which case, it would be from Taleroth, ViolatorX, QuadrAlien and TwilightBard. Obviously, it could be more experienced mafia trying to mislead us.

Let's take a look at what happened: Everyone "knew" that Robbeasy was a miller. Then, someone suggested that he may have been a jester. So now, we know that he was telling the truth, and that this jester crap is all a load.

Logically, we have to assume that this will be the same for everyone in the game, not just Robbeasy, who claims. You guys have to see how this is going to tear the town apart! Now that one has gone, (NK'd), can we just drop it once and for all? Can't we assume that the mafia panicked when they heard "jester" and went from there? How would you have reacted if you had heard it?

This is a very obvious outcome to a very illogical problem. All of our work will have been for nothing if we can't band together and avoid this crap happening again. Love they way they went for it, though - maybe we could use this to our advantage? Even if they had a real reason, it still came out this way. Running to an age old idea to avoid a loss. Of all of the things that have been suggested so far, I would agree with nMillar, and say that the Mafia is inexperienced. There isn't really anything else to go on right now. However, this could change at any opportunity, so let's keep an eye out.

Very interesting selection. I wonder why they picked him. Of all the townies to pick from, wasn't keeping him alive a huge case of wifom? Looking back, one wonders if maybe they latched onto fexen's idea that he was fake-claiming miller to hide a stronger power role or something. A jester wouldn't even have had a threat to them - it's not like they lose if he was a jester and gets lynched/wins, so if that was the main reason they picked him it would be rather selfish, so i doubt it. That and counterproductive for them, because as a claimed miller, town would have had to lynch him sooner or later. Or else lylo would be incredibly wifomy (and mafia of course would have to get to, and win, some form of lylo to win the game). Robb being killed makes no sense to me, unless they thought he was hiding a pr, because even his vote at the end of the day was on fexen (where mine would have been too if i were around - sorry fexen! :X)

I think my vote is going back where it was at the end of the last day, as re-reading it during night doesn't make him look any less scummy to me. So: vote: orryyrro

Strange that two of the three major wagons yesterday are already dead, though. Considering from a metagame sense if orry is scum, mafia just killed all the other competing wagons from near the end of the last day, so naturally he'd get a lot of attention at the start of this day. Unlikely that really means anything as that makes him no less likely (or more likely) to be Mafia, though, except they got rid of his 'buffer' (as well as a big headache for us town!).

Already answered this bit about the jester reaction in my bottom post too, though that was more 'stream of consciousness' so i wasn't directly addressing this. Robb was really no threat to the mafia even if he was a jester, and a real miller is a fairly nice thing for mafia to have alive, so definitely i don't understand why they picked him. Ergo, maybe they used fexen's theory to power role hunt.

You seem to be defending the mafia's course of actions, though. Or else trying to justify their kill and almost apologise for it. Unless i'm reading between the lines wrongly again.

Can you clarify what you mean by the second paragraph? Of what will be the same for everyone if they claim? Pretty sure mafia knows who all the town (or non-mafia, anyway) are, so what's the difference?

Trying to decide what you mean by dropping 'it' once and for all. Orry had a bunch of speculation on the jester role on the first day, by your theory of the mafia panicking when they heard of it, wouldn't that paint a big suspect on him? Opinions?

Well, I guess I'm right back to yesterday. Claiming before a lynch is veeeeeery important, as it allows us to pause for a minute before we lynch someone.

I am going to have to drop my original target, however, in the face of more enlightening news... nMillar just jumped on the earliest possible lynch, without giving Fexen any opportunity to explain himself or claim. Reeks of scum to me.

I was surprised after coming back from a couple days AWOL that fexen was the lynchwagon too, since after I unvoted he had 0 votes, and two others had 3, though like I said I would probably have joined it (and turned out to be wrong with everyone else).

As to the third party, the sample PM victory condition sure hints at one, though it could just be the mod leaving the option open. So there may be one, though I haven't seen a hint of it.

I find nmillar a hard read because he seems fairly scummy to me in all the games he plays, even when he flips town in the end, hehe. The signs are there though..

I'm talking about the panic. People wondering if so-and-so is telling the truth, wondering if there is a jester kicking around, etc. I think that it is for the best if we just don't worry about a jester - if it happens, it happens. Although, judging by the way that the Mafia reacted, we could be looking at some newbies who are unsure of themselves. Also, we haven't heard whether or not (if there was a jester), their win would end the game or not, so that is worrying as well.

About Orry, I wouldn't know. The mere speculation on the first day shouldn't be taken too seriously. Actual scummy behavior, on the other hand, should be taken out and scrutinized. I think that nMillar stands out as scum most of all at the moment, so that's where I'm going to focus for a while.

To explain my minimal contribution yesterday; it was my daughter's birthday on Saturday, so the little time I spent on the forums was mostly on Mafia #4!
