Looking back, I think the one you refer to states that ViolatorX could have added his vote to bring him to the stage when Taleroth might have claimed, and then stated that he would like to hear his claim... Intriguing, I suppose, as he did not then follow that up with what would have been the logical vote...

@vitek this post skewed my counting when he said that as his unvote took him to -3 and not -2

he was at -2 when votes were teleroth typhoon jess orry twilight prior to his unvote I just rechecked it

When I posted I counted from his statement which I assumed he was -2
Jess made it l-3
Quad made it -2
if I then voted l-1
His post would result in a lynch

Nope, he says if he voted he would bring him one from lynch not to claim. He wanted him to claim before he brings him there. So he thought he is at L-2 and I used it without counting myself.

You want to keep it simple. Thats fine, and to be applauded. But you have to look at it from other peoples point of view....

- you throw a vote on Orryrro, 'since he has the most votes already'. Bandwagonning is bad, if you agree why Orryrro has the votes, then at least say so. Just doing it because he has the most is NOT a Town play - a town player would not vote for someone for that reason. a Mafia player would. You say in post 154 'You're all pointing fingers based off absurd reasons that will kill the town.' - yet you vote Orry just because he has the most votes!!

- voting for yourself. If you are Town , YOU DO EVERYTHING TO STAY ALIVE. Voting for yourself is never a good pointer to being town. I can sort of see why you did this though, to gauge reaction. Very dangerous if you are Town - you could get a Mis-lynch on yourself very easily - again not a Town play.

- you're asked to claim. Generally, when some one gets to L -2, a claim is asked for so they get the chance to give the town info. Towns only weapon is the vote, so pressuring people and extracting claims is never a bad thing. Townies are not supposed to lie when asked to claim, Mafia generally do. If someone has enough suspicion on him to get to L-2, any weak claim usually results in a Lynch anyway.

- reads. You 'play' the game a different way to others it seems.... The whole point of Mafia is giving out your reads on people. If you're Town, its one of the ways to help catch scum - you appear not to give reads, you make mad moves instead and claim the reactions from those moves should give us the information we need. Those mad moves only serve to muddy the waters, not clear them.

You have gone against a lot of ways people perceive is town behaviour, then claimed its because you want to move the game on for town and stop fannying about.

That's utter nonsense. You're all throwing around random votes. My vote was based on a silly basis, same as everyone else, such as people voting based on not liking their poem and you act like that's mafia? That's simply stupid. I was told that we wanted to lynch. So I promoted the easiest lynch. If you think it's a bad move, then simply say so.

If it can't be turned into a town play, then it was a mistake. I hardly see anyone giving out reasonable tips around here before jumping to accusations. Rod does a good job of it. I like Rod.

I was asked to claim by one guy I already considered suspicious. And, according to several posts on the previous page, I was never L-2.

Reads are fine. Asking me for reads when everyone's just dicking around making joke accusations isn't a basis for anything serious. I have a few now, but I don't expect anyone to care about it at this point.

At the beginning of the game, we have no information to go on.
There is a time, called the random voting stage (RVS) when votes & accustaions are just thrown around to see what reaction they get. Once some info slips out & discussion gets more serious, this stage is over & people are expected to have a reason for voting.
This might be because of a suspicion, to get a reaction, or whaterver, but you should be able to explain your reason for voting.
Often people leave their RVS vote where it is until they have a reason for voting someone else.
I read this game as being out of RVS once we started discussing Robs claim.

Thank you. I somewhat fail to understand the reasoning. But I can accept it. Day one still sounds too early to take any of that stuff seriously. Now Rob's claim did invite serious discussion, but voting around it was still flipping a coin.

Supposedly, lyching on the first day is a good idea. But also supposedly you don't want to make it early. jesskitten seems to have no qualms whatsoever about it, but overjustifies it I think jess is honest, nontheless. However, TwilightBard seems more willing to chance it and overjustifies to hide his intent. I definitely think he's scum.

fexen and rodzaju are wary to flip the coin. I read that as they're wanting all the facts. I like them both.

I think Typhoon45 is role hunting.

And I think I scared TwilightBard when I voted for Orryyrro. So I wouldn't trust Orryyrro, either.

You don't really want to give out too much role info too soon.
If you are a role that is dangerous to mafia, they will probably nightkill you.
However, when you're getting close to being lynched, revealing a role that is useful to town MAY save your life, if people believe you.
This is why (assuming he's telling the truth) Rob gave the info he did, when he did.
If he gave that claim under lynch pressure, He would definitely get lynched.

The RVS stage and switch to serious discussion can be quite quick - very quick in this game because of my claim. Yes, the voting around it is like flipping a coin to start, but I hope I've done enough to convince people I'm telling the truth.

I've got the reaction I wanted from you with my post and vote - I wasn't 100% sure , which is why i went after you. I'm happy it was first -timer nerves / error, rather than anything nefarious. You can ignore my accusations against you - I now have you as solid Town.

Yes its always advisable to lynch every day really, rather than No-Lynch. Don't forget a Lynvh brings the day to a close, and no more discussion takes place. This is what we mean when we say we dont want it to be too early - no time to scumhunt!

Can I ask why you think Typhoon is role-hunting?

While playing, its advisable not to roleplay - dont forget Mafia are on the hunt for power roles, so the less hints about your role the better. Unless you have the misfortune of drawing Town fecking Miller, of course.........
