Claiming power role is good if you want people to unvote you but can back-fire soon. If you make up power role (as townie) you can always get counter-claimed. This is bad for 2 reasons.
1. It's almost certain lynch for you in line with LAL rule (Lynch all liars).
2. You make real power role come out. If you are townie protecting them should be of more importance than your survival.

That said I am not convinced by Orryyrro claim and would he claimed power role (in believable way) I would be much more likely to believe him.

No idea who to suspect.

You say "defend yourself" but you don't give any indication on what you don't like on my post. How can I defend when I am not attacked?

I didn't find it adequate, I'm afraid.

To be clear: I'm not letting Orry slide off the radar (even though I'll admit the claim rings true to me), but I'm trying to get another wagon going because I'm getting pretty bored with this. I know this is what got me lynched in the other game, but we've done a lot of sitting idle already, and it's not very exciting.

Entirely your choice, but as I've stated before, I dont think i've done anything remotely scummy - coming out and saying 'yup I'm town' in a few posts is hardly solid evidence, now is it.?

On the other hand, you pushing for a deadline can in no way be seen to be helpful to town - it only puts pressure on us all and causes mistakes. That is, for me , a massive slip. I'd like to see you explain how calling for a deadline is in any way helpful to a townie - it can ONLY be helpful to Mafia.

@Bazilisek - go through what again? Just because I voted for you on another game has absolutely no bearing on this game, at all. I call every game, every post , on its merits. I can only ever go on what you post here.

You have to consider Every post when you play this game. What did you think I was gonna think when you ask for a deadline to be set? It wasn't obvious to me that you were asking outside the role of the game - and you really shouldn't , it does make it harder for Town the shorter the day.....

anyway dont want to turn this into a tit-for-tat - I'm off to bed now so we'll see what others think as the day progresses

I find it rather upsetting that Robb and Baz are heading after each other. I'm fairly certain both are town. Also, I think a mislynch would be disastrous at this stage.

I'm sticking by my conviction on Jesskitten and Orryyrro, but since no one else is interested in either of them I'm not sure what to do. I've made as many arguments in favor of my case as I think are possible to, as eloquently as I can muster. No one seems convinced (likely due to the prior mislynch) so continuing with that is practically right out.

On the other hand, the only other wagon going is with Robb, who I am 100% sure is town. I really don't think waiting ages will be best for any player, but I also think that a mislynch or no-lynch would be the end of the town, even this early in the game.

I'd like to see another eloquent argument in favor of a suspect that I haven't made up my mind on as town (right now that'd be Robbeasy). I'm thinking the day needs to end soon, but I'm also thinking we need to pick players who are actually scummy.

So which is it, are you 100% sure he is town, or are you unsure either way? And how can you be positive he is town?

Let's formulate two axioms here:

1) The only time you can be 100% sure about someone in this game is when they are dead.

2) If you think you have a solid read of the situation, you're probably wrong.

Ok - having slept on it, and looking again at the post this morning, I concede its more likely to be an 'outside the game' comment to MOD rather than anything else.

1) Not always true, look at roles possible in the game. Sadly not In this case however, I'm just grateful someone doesn't think I'm a d!ck....

2) Ghosts track record ain't the greatest - and everything in the early stages of a Mafia game are mostly guesswork, so solid read of the situation is indeed out of the question.

Orryrro's claim of 'Union Jack' still doesnt sit right with me, but like Ghost said, most other people seem to have believed it and let the wagon come to a halt.

It is always true -- that's why I called it an axiom. The possibilities in this game are almost endless; only the moderator knows what kind of roles were put in. But you gave me an idea, something we should have tested a long time ago.
