Guys, I said I had been busy (note the past tense here?), but I'm not anymore. At the time of posting it was monday. When I said that it was (again, past tense) a week long effort, I was talking about last week. Please, try to understand this. I don't want to get lynched over my explanation for being inactive being misinterpreted.

Personally, I find a lot of the points that Baz has made interesting, but I have to disagree with his analysis of Jess' analysis. I think that her point that Ghost pushed on the vote without committing herself is valid, as it was rather odd of Ghost. That having been said, it is also odd that an experienced player like Jess would either A) Push for a cop investigation or B) Fish for a cop.

That's all for now, but I'll see how things have unfolded later.

About Roosh's editing:

I have pondered the situation a great deal, and I have reached a conclusion about what I think is the best course of action.
In GOG#1 I was very lenient with people who double posted or edited their post, simply due to everyone being new to this game, and the forum software not being exactly optimal for playing mafia.
It can be argued that Roosh is just as new to the game as, say, nmillar was in GOG#1 (and the forum software hasn't improved any) - shouldn't he then be offered the same leniency that nmillar got? Ideally, yes, he should. However, it is not feasible to bend the rules, in this and in future games, for anyone who is playing for the first time. Unfair, maybe - deal with it, life is unfair.
I have no reason to believe that Roosh intended to cheat or break the rules in any way. Neither do I have any reason to believe that he didn't read the rules. I do have reason to believe that this was a simple mistake made due to sub-optimal forum software - just as I believed when players made similar mistakes in GOG#1.

As such, my ruling is:
Nothing to see here, game goes on like normal.

However, this will be the last time I let editing or double-posting-that-shows-up-as-editing slide - for anyone. The "do not edit" rule is there for a reason, and most, if not all, of us know that double posts gets merged. The latter is unfortunate, but can be played around.

If it's not important - don't double post. If it is important - wait at least 15 minutes before posting, but consider the option of waiting until someone else has posted.

Which reminds me, it would be helpful if you would put your votes and unvotes either at the start or the end of your posts. Or at the least at the start or the end of a paragraph - they can be quite easy to miss if they're right in the middle of a bunch of text.

Can I just step out the game here a moment to applaud the MOD - Roosh has been getting quite a bit of flak from certain others, due to perceived past behaviour in other things he has participated? (see the GOG mafia signup thread)

Lets remember its just a game people, and that folks DO make mistakes. Everyone should be allowed one, lets be sensible and lets be nice to each other.

Hold on now, the only thing I got after him about were his claims that his problems with Dark Heresy were due to being new, when they were more due to him liking space marines a little too much.

Okay I'm finally back. I've been the focus of much discussion and there's too much for me to deal with at this moment. Food shortages, game development, I'm currently sitting in a whirlwind, so try to bear with me.

As for the Damnation hammer vote, I think I should get that out of the way.

I was not until the scum-claim completely convinced Damnation should be the Day 1 kill. He was my strongest case, but I would have preferred Orry for multiple reasons (Damnation was acting scared as hell of Orry getting lynched, Orry was deathly silent at that point in time, etc -- go read back, I explained it a couple times, even if I didn't explicitly state it.)

If Damnation had quieted down at some point, realizing he was not making himself look good at all, I'd have turned the town's attention to Orry. That's why I kept my vote there, it was conspicuous. His name continuously reappeared in my posts and he had a couple votes. In Jesskitten's breakdown of votes: check the amount of posts between the vote changes. I unvoted Orry after nigh-on a hundred posts had gone by. Prior to my Orry vote there had barely been 60. I really, really wanted to nail Orry. It didn't happen, because Damnation gave us all the too-good-to-be-true gambit post and that's a hard one to top.

Before Jesskitten draws attention to it: yes, even after the gambit I didn't vote because I actually thought (like Robbeasy) he had been lynched. Only after a bit of work had been completed on my end did I check again and realize the votecount had been off. That's when I dropped the hammer vote.

Jesskitten, you're taking my style of attack on Damnation and using it on me now. And we know that witch-hunts lead to mislynches. I'm going to stick with my vote for now, and I'll explain myself in detail as I get free time.

You wanted to lynch me because Damnation seemed frightened of me being lynched, and you wanted to do this without proof of Damnation being scum first? Yes, if he had been scum, it would pretty much be proof that I was. But to base that I'm scum off the fact that another looks scummy, wouldn't it be more prudent to vote for the one "defending" me first, like we did?
