Krypsyn: Are you referring to DarkoD13's post 638?
I was, yes. I went to go and look back at it though, and it's much more spare than I remembered it. I'll go and read both through tomorrow, and compare them again.

CSPVG: snip....

While it may seem excessive, I think it would lend massive amounts of credibility to the scum-player. Usually, as I have stated before in a post, the person that falls under scrutiny on day two is the hammerer. Therefore, the earlier you vote, the less scummy you (usually) appear. It may seem a bridge too far for some, but I can definitely see a mafioso bussing their buddy from that early on, just to gain townie points. Especially if your fellow mafioso made as many mistakes as adalia did.

..snip...snippety...

Rob, post 947 - A sort of mild-mannered screed against mrk and I from Rob. The theory about us colluding is frankly ludicrous. Rob places what I feel to be an OMGUS vote on me.

..snip
You try to paint me bussing a fellow mafia, and a very good power role one at that, and on the very first day no less, by getting on them early, and not wavering all day - and have the balls to call my theory 'frankly ludicrous'.......

surely its not just me who sees this as suspect???

Sage103082: Is there anything beneficial to going after other players play-styles / scum hunting methods? I think we should be more concerned about finding scum and not how others are trying to do it and whether if we think it is a good method or not.
avatar
Krypsyn: Sounds good. What would be the first thing you would analyze then? What would you weight as most important for analysis?
Reading back over my post, I may be wrong. Even if we are not discussing who we think is scum maybe something may still slip. But I personally try to look at what is posted, how it is posted, what does it say, is there anything hidden it in or something that was hinted at. I can not say anyone one thing is more important but everything as a whole.

I do still have have my doubts about yogs and really do not like his post #1016 my vote did get some people talking and posting. I do feel that using my vote to 1. vote for someone I find scummy a good thing and 2. to get reactions and see who posts what and who jumps on.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.
Yeah, the point was to post something without much editorializing so it can be used as an objective reference by the whole town.
Krypsyn's post was far more analytical, especially concerning the significance of everyone's position on the wagon.

yogsloth: Town, aren't you so glad this conundrum was forced upon us?

Krypsyn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwNsXwRMI7s

srsly.
May I ask what this reference means? I don't understand it at all. Also, what does "srsly" mean in this context? Thanks.

(Wish I had refreshed before posting my reply to CSPVG, ho hum ... oh, DarkoD13 just posted, yay!)
Post so Krypsyn can reply.

Sure, it means I think you made a very bad play. The "50 DKP Minus" is a meme from way back in 2006 from a WoW raid that went horribly wrong. The raid leader was a bit high-strung, and would yell '50 DKP Minus" whenever someone did something wrong.

The 'srsly' was me saying 'seriously' in text shorthand, to draw attention to fact that I really thought it was pretty bad.

(Thanks Darko.)

It was already discussed previously that the mafia probably did not know what adalia's power role was (see posts #713 + #716 + #725 + #728 + #743 + #753). I will gladly extend the same courtesy I have extended to Vitek in post #743 if there's something you want to share with us to the contrary.
*shrug* Okay. The entire point of the post was to point out how bad a play it was, but it wasn't me that made it. Others have already pointed out how terrible an idea it is to role-hunt... all I did was illustrate the absurdity of this by being absurd myself.

I guess I can't count on sarcasm coming through clearly if you somehow thought I was serious.

The only logical response would be to cease discussion of power roles and who has them immediately. This is my recommendation.

The reason yours seemed so bad to me is that you were seemingly trying to subtly direct a potential Doctor. It is scummy as all get out, regardless if joking or sarcastic. I don't think I need to belabor why?

Agreed!

Hopefully the only direction a potential doctor got out of that was to keep quiet!

mrkgnao: But HijacK simply says he wants to kill CSPVG not because he suspects he is scum, but because he is curious to see what role he has and correlate it to the ship model. He is scarificing him for a scientific experiment. And that to me is so cruel and so anti-town.
Alright, now I'm done taalking and I'm moving you onto one of the main places on my scum lsit. Nowveere do I ever mention I want to kill CSPVG. I said I want to hear his role. What you basically did was use "linguistics" to change the whole meaning of my risk play into some type of lynch test.
avatar
Krypsyn: Another question to HijacK, this time about his stance towards yogsloth:

avatar
HijacK: I'm done with you. Scum or not, there is not way you're beneficial to this game.
avatar
Krypsyn: Do you think he is scum? I understand that you think his play is poor and/or off-base, but what do you think his motivations are?
Not entirely sure, but from my once opinion of "nobody in scum team can play it that badly" especially after a bad play was just witnessed in the game, I became more open and I placed him on my scum list.

Motives? I don't know. I'm no fan of that playstyle. But a basic answer is that he wants to achieve victory, which in his case can be achieved either as scum or as town.
