Zchinque: That's a standard rule.
Yes. Which means that I need clarification on whether I can reveal the full extent of my clue or not. You wouldn't want poor old me to be modkilled for breaking the rules now, would you?
And may I ask you again why you are in favour of denying information to the town, since you seemed to have ignored me when I first asked?
Got the ok from Joe.

So it seems that "Including Caroline Bianchi, there are 8 of each gender present." is an acceptable rephrase.

Waiting on Zchinque now.

Okay, so your 8+8 expectation was not based on anything (flavor-wise) that would have included Bernie, I assume. It's not a pre-crime list...

Waiting for.what, exactly? Information dumps are usually better for scum than for town. I don't think the game.will be some logical puzzle where we just need to.collect the dots to solve it. And given the.stance of some players, where.they see.no potential downside, I feel even more inclined to think it might not be a good idea.

Nice attempt at spinning it in a universally negative light, though - "denying information to the town".

Pre-post Edit: the space bar is much too small on this screen.

Red_Baron: Just trying to understand this part, is it supposed to be on the same line - what does cspvg stand for? (Other than some weird group in Ireland)
Let's see, what do I stand for? Umh, I've got it: A policy which would declare jam as,' An item of clothing, if spread thickly'; an initiative to bolster cultural exchange between Durban and Rotterdam ; and an innovative, city-wide push to finally make Copenhagen usurp Amsterdam as Europe's bicycle capital( that last one may or may not be an outright attempt at appeasement and flattery).

Furthermore, I am pleased to see my dear pineapple friend among us again. Let's hope you don't get brutally murdered on night one, again.

On to the actual game:

Firstly, addressing QuadrAlien, it was never my intention to suggest that I was either a policeman or the unnamed player. I also acknowledge, in light of the new information we have received, that my suggestion was rather ridiculous.

Secondly, I feel that revealing our 'likes/dislikes' is not that detrimental. This is primarily because I do not know how much stock can be placed in these 'likes/dislikes', we do not know the player's intentions. I believe there is a phrase or word for this in Mafia, but cannot think of it at the moment. What could be useful, however, is a player's reaction to said 'likes/dislikes'.*

The clues, however, I am a little more dubious about, but feel that we may as well share them, as they are only up for discussion on day one.

Lastly, I feel a little bit lost in this game and am not sure if this is because 1) I had a break of about a week from it, and need to get back into the flow or 2) I keep expecting the other shoe to drop, as I believe Joe's game to be crazier than a business of angry ferrets in a pressure cooker. I'll get back into it though, I'm sure.

*Would someone be kind enough to draw up a list of the current 'likes/dislikes'?

So you do stand by your belief that it's better to not give information than give it. This is not a case where we can hold on to information until we need to share, this is a case where the information can only be given on Day 1, yet you still think that it's better to hold it. So it is "Denying information to the town", since if you don't share with the rest of us, we won't know it.

Thank you for making it easy on me.

Vote Zchinque
It took a while to catch up with the posts.
I'm not sure about Zchinque. I seriously doubt a mafia player would come out and say "let me hammer". It would be weird considering he would be the first suspect should anything off happen during the night. I cannot exclude the possibility of him being a neutral though, but I'd rather get all the mafia players first.
As for the likes/dislikes/clues, I would personally prefer if we reached some sort of consensus on whether we should all share them.

Of course, checking Telika's list, most people seem to have shared their likes/dislikes already, so it could be somewhat pointless to vote on those now anyway. What about clues though? Mine looks more like flavor, honestly, but I'm still afraid there's a chance it will make things easier for the scum. Is the majority in favor of sharing them since we can't discuss them after day 1?

i should really never have tried to hint at the clue by giving it some reason as for the hinting.. no the clue is not lovers quarrel - I in fact have no idea what could have been the reason. I do however have a clue (as mentioned several times earlier) that states were dealing with a female killer - and thats the one I guess QT had something in common with/or shared. That said I find it interesting that the clue mentions one killer, while the tracks gives indication of 3 - although yes normally mafia only has one killer, but the other members of the scum team doesn't usually stand around the killer when it takes place.

I dislike police, I find them annoying, but I dislike mafia more for being scummy and not going to the corner.

I like pretty girls. On the younger side, I may add, too many old farts playing bridge. Or there would be, if the murder didn't stop that. I'm actually thankful to the mafia for that, which is why I gave them an honorable retreat on the guilty corner.

Cheers, thanks for clearing that up. So your clue is that the killer is female? and not that it was a lovers quarrel. Don't forget that there is 3 ski tracks leading away from the body, so while the killer maybe only 1, she was not alone on the scene of the crime.

You need to try subtlety.

AHEM. Can anyone here who knows how to ski put their hands up please? it is...ummm... a medical emergency.
also

@QuadrAlien - Since Red_Baron's clue was wrong, would you mind clarifying your clue?
I am home!

And now I am off to shop.

But I'll back soon.

Hopefully.

You did read my whole post right? Appears like you didn't. I underlined the part I figure you overlooked ;)

Subtlety is for the weak. I'm the handsome hero of the story, after all. Even if it looks like I die, it will all be just a clever plot where I'm biding my time to surprise everyone in the end with my cunning*.

As for your question... rises hands. I know how to sky. I can't pull it off myself, but I know it is all about pointing down with the stuff on your feet and not falling down.
