I am happy to say I have successfully set up a network on Comodo Unite. It works incredibly well, but I still lack other players. I started this little VPN journey in order to see Overlord+Raising Hell in multiplayer mode. However, there are plenty of games in the GOG catalog with LAN functionality, and I own a sizable chunk of the catalog, so if you have a game you'd like to play in LAN mode, I am open to suggestions and if I own it too, I will play it with you. I'll be online for the next hour or so. Anyone connecting to my network, "rawlan" (leave the password field blank) in that time may have a GOG code for one of the following games (while supplies last, first come, first serve, I will try to update the list, but no guarantees:) Overlord+Raising Hell - 1 code, Ghost Master - 1 code, Planescape: Torment - 1 code claimed, both Neverwinter Nights games - 1 code, Torchlight - 6 codes.

but for the vpn/lan gaming side of things, wouldn't it be better to use hamachi / tunngle? The latter especially has a fairly dedicated community.

Do you run it on a dedicated server or from home?

Tungle seemed a bit bulky and chat oriented for my taste (I didn't try it, but it seemed too much like Xfire,) perhaps that's a bad choice on my part and why I'm not finding players, but I'm kind of aiming to find people through the GOG community. I tried Hamachi, but the free version limits you to 5 users per network, Unite is completely free and fully functional and I like the interface better. My job is mostly weekends, so I am free when most others are busy and vice versa. From home. I think it's a type of peer to peer connection, no?

I've only ever used Hamachi myself. Guess I never needed more than 5 people on the network because I never knew that was the limit. I've been wanting to play some multiplayer Moonbase Commander since I picked it up a few weeks ago, but have yet to do that lol

Actually, i should test it out too, would be interested in playing a game.

While I've been having great experience with Tunngle I think LANBridger is ideal as you don't need to make an account, only write a nickname. It might be harder to ban/kick people in case they don't behave well though but I can't say.

I didn't mind setting up the account, fairly quick, and I like how easy it is to set up unlimited networks, each with unlimited users and yes, the person starting the network seems to have good control over who is on it.
