Truth is we already have some BIG somethings here, lol. Admittedly I'd prefer a new publisher or fantastic classics released, but this helps give the GOG team a break. Plus I'm sure tons of people love the lowered prices.

The Shark is just part of the summer theme for the sale. Sharks, beaches, sun. All things more or less associated with summer and well it is a summer theme. GOG isn't planning anything, LucasArts will never come to GOG. Microsoft will never come to GOG. Take Two will never come to GOG. ZeniMax will never come to GOG. Linux will never come to GOG. Lets just enjoy the summer sale and not speculate of anything more than that. Lots of great games will be for sale at much reduced prices. That is it. It is a cause for celebration in its own right. But never expect more good thing to happen.

One shark appears in the animated banner. Another appears for the respective entry under "latest headlines". That makes two sharks. One of the screenshots for Daikatana has two sharks. Daikatana is on sale. Daikatana is a Square-Enix title. Square-Enix titles are on sale this week only. Time is of the essence. Daikatana is a game about time-travel.
