But if I was a gamer girl I probably wouldn't mention it here so I wouldn't have to deal with all these stereotypes. And btw, not only are there female gamers but also quite a few female game designers (one of the inventors of Portal and team leader in its production was
Kim Swift, for example).

I can't stand the stereotypical attitude people have against women in general but it comes out in gaming more often then not, I mean look at almost every female in a video game. Skimpy clothing, ridiculously over sized breasts, it's just stupid that this is what gaming has come to.
And as you said there are TONS of women in video game development. I'm positive that now a days the ratio is near even on boys/girls who play video games, it's probably 60% guys 40% girls, or somewhere near that. It's still a male dominated medium but we really need to lose the childish and sexist reflections in video games.
