As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it’s easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. Of course Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, and some other of our most popular titles will always get a lot of attention, but GOG has many more classics to bring you. To help encourage you to explore the dustier reaches of GOG’s catalog, we’re going to be offering a promo on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Think of it as a curated promo on some of GOG’s favorite titles that you may not have played. Whether we’re encouraging you to explore incredible new worlds or inviting you to see how a titanic series got its start, we think every game we’re going to be offering on our GOG Gem Promos will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

In today's promo we're presenting you one of the most fun and action packed shooter - Painkiller: Black Edition. Made by the Polish development studio People Can Fly, who recently released Bulletstorm, the game focuses on fast-paced action, weapons of mass destruction and hordes of fun to shoot enemies. Although Painkiller was released in 2004, it is a perfect example of the oldschool shooter games formula - run & gun! Let's be honest, it's not about the plot, it's just pure, unadulterated action. And with 60% off today you can't miss the occasion to check it out.

So grab Painkiller: Black Edition today for only $3.99! The promo ends tomorrow, April 7 at 5:59 a.m. EDT (11:59 a.m. GMT).
Fun promo, but until PayPal finally fixes my account I won't be buying anything :(
If you do not own this, and you like shooting things, or you like metal, or you like shooting things while listening to metal... you should already own this, and thus, you should pick this up.

If you do not like metal or shooting things, you should pick this up for your friends who do like metal and/or shooting things.
I'm told that this game features a gun that shoots shurikens and lightning. How can I resist?
Great game. Especially for people who love old school FPS. I've already bought it here though.

You have not been mislead. Many of the weapons are cool like that.

Yay! I'm the one who doesn't own it and this is the opportunity I've been waiting for.
That is a great price for a great game.

Painkiller is the closest game I ever played to q1 singleplayer! It still blows all those CoD clones out of the water.

I have the disc release... might be worth $4 to get it here, but we'll see.
Time to look for change under the couch cushions.
Have this one.
Already waiting for the next wonderful promo. :)
Ok I'd originally thought I wouldn't get painkiller thought it wasn't my kind of game, but with all the positive comments and such a cheap price I'll get it.
This might seem like a curious question but does Painkiller allow you to turn off the battle music? I watched a gameplay video and I like the looks and (environmental) sounds of it but I'm not very fond of the recurring Heavy Metal riffs when foes are in sight. I'd find it more immersive without those (it probably shows that I'm not much of an FPS player ... or a Metal fan, hehe).

I have absolutely zero interest in this game, and am kind of saddened the promo doesn't hit my wishlist.

However, really happy to see there's still 60% off promo's(not the 40-60% ones)! Nice going! :)
