Every one is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody--Mark Twain

To the Moon, the heart-touching indie phenomenon that takes you on a trip inside a person's mind, is discounted by 60% on GOG.com for the next 24 hours!

All you ever hear is that you should live your life to the fullest, so once you're nearing its end you'll be able to look back at it with no regrets. Wise words, but honestly: to err is human and that amazing thing called life doesn't really come with a comprehensive user-manual. So after a lifetime of trial and error we often find ourselves wishing to go back and correct at least some of our mistakes. This is a story of a dying man full of regret and an two scientists who dared to venture into the depths of his mind to give him another chance. Doing that, they will become witnesses to his amazing--and amazingly human--memories.

To the Moon is a uniqe indie adventure with lots of original puzzles and nostalgic SNES-era RPG aesthetics. The gameplay focuses on exploration of a vast world supported only by a dying man's fading memories. All of the interaction focuses on restoring and altering those pale fragments, filtering out the false ones, and--ultimately--allowing the patient to re-live a perfected version his live in his mind.

How far will you go to make a dying man's last wish possible? You can even go To the Moon, for only $3.99 until Thursday, September 20 at 10:59 AM GMT.

SimonG: It has been, as far as I can tell.
Indeed. You've done such an exceptional job, I proclaim you my "it has" guy. Whenever I write an "I won't do this until that has changed"-post it is your job to inform me once the change has occurred - always beginning with the words "it has" obviously. For now: dismissed.

Awesome, I have waited for this one! Thanks
I fear the hype surrounding it kind of hurt the game. It's neat enough, but I've walked away from it with this lingering disappointment that set in sometime two-thirds in. Though it's perfectly possible I just didn't like the way the story was evolving.

Still, definitely worth the price. It's different enough from most games out there to make it worth your while.

(There will be people inevitably jumping in here to say "it's not even a game", and yes, they're sort of right. I don't really think that's valid criticism, though.)
Tempted.

So it's neither old nor is it a game but at least it's kinda good, yes?

Oh, I probably should have phrased that better. I actually finished it. It's not like it's terribly long, anyway.

Fred_DM: ib4 it's part of the Humble Indie Bundle 7...
It's an RPG Maker game, so porting it to Linux/Mac is impossible. No chance for HiB.

I'd say it's a game. Is Dear Esther one? Same thing here. Depends on your personal definition, I guess.
And it definitely is good. I wouldn't call it great, but good? Sure.

Hmm, if that is true, I'm wondering what was Fred's motive to claim something like that? Or is there some conflicting information out there?

Either way: thanks GOG, this was on my mental wishlist, so I'm getting it now too. Instabuy! :)
