Per aspera ad astra!

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, the lavish real-time tactical fleet simulator, is discounted by 60% on GOG.com for the next 24 hours!

For more than the last 3000 years the humankind has been waging wars at seas. The first recorded naval battle took place about 1210 BC. The battleships of the Hittite king Suppiluliuma II defeated a fleet from Cyprus. As the king watched the enemy ships burn and sink--did he think about the future of naval warfare? Could he possibly imagine metallic battleships sailing the sea of stars and fighting over the dominion of an interstellar scale? Even if he didn't--we do now. In fact, space battle remains one of the most prominent tropes in our pop culture. Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is a true gem among the games focusing on this subject.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident sucessfully delivers a tactical space battlefield command experience to strategy game fans. It draws you in with beautiful space-opera graphics and holds you captive with its original, deep, and complex gameplay. Over 30 missions full of epic battles await, and if that's not enough for you, check out some of the fantastic mods developed by the Nexus fan community!

Aim for the stars and strengthen the terran dominion over the Solar System in Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, for only $3.99.
Does it require a flight stick?

Nope.

F4LL0UT: Only three replies for such a great promo? Something's wrong...

G-Doc: Might have something to do with the Nexus Mod Spotlight, we released simultaneously. :-)
Well for me it's a combination of this and the fact that I already own it on Steam. Will probably still get it.....

However, with the Nexus Mod Spotlight mentioned....
could you please use your magic GOG.com Team powers to make the mod spotlights available on the game forums, preferable as sticky, once their promotional time has passed? Or even better, making them clickable through the official gamepage to endorse future sales.
Especially for those with backlogs (who doesn't have?) it's a shame that they seem to vanish and it's not that a few more webpages consisting mainly of text adds much to traffic cost.
This great game for that price is a steal. Everybody with even the remotest interest in Science Fiction should buy this game ASAP!

Strijkbout: Nope.
Got it. For 3.99 USD I couldn't pass it up. And now that I know I can play it without a flight stick (don't have one atm) will give it a run tonight. Thanks!
I've been interested in this game, but i'm not sure about it. Would you space and RTS genre veterans say Nexus is good compared to others like it? Say for example, Homeworld? I don't really have much experience with these types of games, so I don't know what's good.

It's less good than homeworld, but that's not the point (everything is). It's still a good space rts, and is not trying to be homeworld : the focus on capital ships battles and subsystem managment/targetting makes it different enough and interesting in its own way.

One off my wishlist, thanks GOG.

Does this game have anything to do with the earlier games from the same developer (Imperium Galactica 1-2), and should I at least try them out before this? I have the retail versions of them, but never tried them fully, besides installing and goofing around with IG2 once.

You're welcome, klaattu :)
Is the soundtrack for this game any good?

Edit: I assume not since I can't find any special mentions of it. I think I'll wait for the steam version to go on sale.
