King's Bounty: The Legend, the turn-based strategy-RPG mix set in a beautiful high-fantasy land, is discounted by 60% on GOG.com for the next 24 hours!

In the fantastic realm of Endoria a freshly-knighted nobleman swore an oath to his king, thus taking on the mantle of the Royal Bounty Hunter. Little did he know of the numerous adventures that the destiny had in store for him. There were great battles to be fought, lands to be conquered, armies to be led to glory, villainous tyrants to be overthrown, and beautiful ladies to be courted. But even the greatest things have small beginnings. Assigned with a small squad of recruits, the youngster was set free into the land to seek out bandits and monsters to slay, treasures and magical artifacts to claim, and princesses to save. And so, a lifetime of glory and valor began for our gallant hero.

King's Bounty: The Legend plays a lot like a Heroes of Might & Magic game. But calling it a simple clone would be unjust. Saying that it's a "genetically enhanced clone"--as one of our users called it--would be much more fair. The gameplay is full of unique ideas and the high-fantasy setting of the game has a very distinctive feel to it. With countless hours of gameplay, innumerable tasks to complete, giant world to explore, and a great variety of enemies to defeat, this gem of a strategic-RPG truly deserves your attention.

Shiny up your armor, saddle your white horse, and set off towards your next fantastic adventure in King's Bounty: The Legend, for only $3.99 until Thursday, September 6 at 10:59 AM GMT.
Very fun and addicting, with pleasing visuals. However, I liked Armored Princess better.

Is GOG getting Armored Princess and Crossworlds?

That was when they introduced GOG Gem promos? Damn, I'm getting old...

It's like 874 interwebs years. A legion of new goglings joined our ranks since then. Why should we deprive them of an opportunity to get this great title (one of my personal "I-whish-I-had-time-to-play-this"s) with a discount? :-)
Nice game. Only thing that bothers me is that I prefer the gameplay style in games like HoMM and not a story driven RPG.

Would have been better if it was squad-base or something like FF tactics/Tactics Ogre

Different strokes for different folks. The story-driven RPG-ish gameplay is exactly why I prefer this game over the HoMM series (which I also love, but not as passionate). :-)
Sorry to be the one to say it, but when is GOG going to get the original King's Bounty, the 1990 game by New World Computing, made by none other than Jon Van Caneghem?

I can't see there being any licensing problems, considering all the other NWC games (Might & Magic, Heroes of Might & Magic) are already on GOG.

Well you are right G-Doc. I sort of prefer a bunch of characters when it is story-driven because I love getting personally attached to the bunch of characters rather than an army of random people/creatures. Well all I could say is that its a nice game but unfortunately its not my cup of tea and I had it lying around my gamersgate account in quite awhile.

Anyway its a good deal from GOG and its good to see frequent deals from GOG and not just the usual weekend sale.

Looking forward to more sales from GOG and waiting for some words about inquisitor

You mean reviews of the game? Here's one, though it's based on the Czech version

Bloodygoodgames: Very nice promo and a really great game. Highly recommend if you don't already own it.

Unfortunately, I already own it on GamersGate so it's a no-buy for me today.
Same for me, except for having the series in Steam

Better working graphics, too. No waiting for unskippable combat animations to play, always a clear idea what patch of land is a solid wall, and what is walkable.
Nice promo! It was one of the first games I bought on GOG and I don't regret a single minute I spent with it (and it were many hours).

Everyone who doesn't own this game yet, should get it for this price.
How about releasing Armored Princess? It's about time.
