Charon121: I have 32 (including freebies), been here for a year and a half, and I still haven't even installed a quarter of that number. To people with a triple-digit number, I'm curious – how many of them have you actually played and finished? Or is it just a collector's thing?
I think it is both for me. Creating a private library of relatively interesting games from where I can pick up games to play, in my own time and pace. Hence, I also very much prefer they are DRM-free. After all, I wouldn't want to create a private library of books either where I'd have to call the book store every time I intended to pick up and read one book from there. To answer your other question, many of the games I've bought from GOG I've played before as retail versions, but if we are talking about strictly about the GOG versions, so far I've finished only one (Gorky 17), and I'm almost done with Baldur's Gate + ToSC.
Maybe a dozen or so I've played somewhat, more or less. The rest, I haven't even touched yet (at least the GOG versions). But still, I buy only games that I intend to play, even if I am unsure whether I will ever have time to actually do it for that particular game.
In a way it might make more sense to buy games only when you actually intend to play that game, but that does not necessarily fit the scheduling of discount promos, and then look what happened to e.g. Space Rangers 1-2, if you waited too long. :)
