It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

All TBS games would probably work just fine. And most point-and-click adventure games too.

PMIK: Games which are unplayable with only touch:
- IE games
Take a look at GemRB, it contains a number of tweaks to make the games viable on tablets and phones (such as a scrolling area near the edge of the gameplay area), the Android builds available have them already compiled in, if you want the same behaviour on Windows or anything else, you'll likely need to build it yourself. Or it may just be a config setting, I haven't kept track on progress for a long time.

Oh, Surface Pro. You might want to ask around on IRC, #GemRB on Freenet, they should be able to help you out.

PMIK: Legend of grimrock - only option for moving is WASD, so this game is unplayable on touch
Legend of Grimrock - you can enable arrow icons for movement.

Thanks! I'm trying that out right now!

Options -> Enable Arrow Icons

From what I remember. I do not have the game installed at the moment.

There is a "Tablet Mode" in the options menu as well.
But I don't know what does.

I saw that one, it lets you attack with "left click" rather than "right click".
Interesting thread. I'd like to try touchscreen gaming someday.
I was gonna mention LoG's arrow icons but JouinUP cleared it out better than I could because I don't have the game installed right now. Although I hated it as a movement technique... It's much harder to avoid enemy attacks this way.

As for other games, I'd try pretty much any game where the mouse is or can be set as the only controlling device, like most adventures. Including Gobliiins :-)

Well, that if you have DosBox or Scummvm ports for that target platform. But they are usually available or at least can be rather portable. Loom for example is quite playable with scummvm on tablets.

How could I forget Gobliiins! I'm going to try it now.

Legend of Grimrock now works beautifully on the surface. One caveat is that I can only really play it properly with the pen that comes with it. Finger touching doesn't quite work properly.

As you mentioned, the keyboard movement is superior, but the game is very playable like this.
The Surface Pro! That sounds sweet! Can you give us a review on it?
Also, playing KoDP on a touchscreen sounds awesome. I know they ported it over to iOS and I've been really jealous

You are right, of course. I hadn't checked whether they had ports to the mobile platforms, but a quick google shows that scummvm indeed has an android version (I have no time to follow up with dosbox BTW)
Also I'm not knowledgeable about the Surface Pro specifically, so I can't say it'll work for sure.
Heroes 1-3, Machinarium and Torchlight work perfectly.

Cool I'll add them to the list and check them out myself at some point.

I'm having trouble running gemRB however, not really sure what I should be doing

Also gobliiins just won 't run properly every time ScummVM goes to fullscreen mode My cursor becomes unusable, works fine in windowed mode but then its far too tiny on the Surface Screen
