I've been thinking of getting one of these 'PC Consoles' and this latest Alienware one looks appealing. A great deal of the advertising focuses on its compatibility with Steam, but I wondered whether it is also able to easily play GOG games?

These don't even have SteamOS on them, so they're really no different from a normal Windows 8.1 machine. If GOG advertises Win8 compatibility for the given game, they'll support it. Funnily enough, there's loads of games on Steam that will NEVER work on it, nor will you get any support or refund for them :P
Thanks for the reply! This looks pretty good for me I think
Rich at ReviewTechUSA did a short opinion piece on the systems based on the specs. In a summary, video cards aren't upgradable, locked at 2 or 4Gig, and you can probably do better building your own system cheaper. Basically even the most expensive will be behind on higher game specs (if they aren't already).

I recommend building your own rig, either start with a bare-bones system and add a few extras on it, or get the parts needed. Actually since it's either now or soon will be cyber-monday, NewEgg will have lots of good deals...

^ This, if you want PC gaming, prebuilts are NOT the way to go.
