As great as these games are, I'm sure you've all noticed that the multiplayer scene isn't quite as lively as it once was. If we work together on this however, I believe we could liven things up a bit.
I'm thinking we should have an organised event, whereby once a week we elect one of the GOG games to play online, and then set a scheduled time to play it. We could even organise tournaments and depending on popularity, even see if GOG will set up a few dedicated servers for us.
It's just an idea, but who would be interested?
I'm for it
Good idea. And if Unreal games would be released on gog, then it would be just fantastic ;]
That would be great.

Sign me up! We could use some web IRC and put it in a forum to organize during the event.

I know. What I meant was that there is an app that you can put in forums so people that do not have an irc client can connect also.
here's an example

Well, there seems to be a bit of interest already. As for setting up forums and the like; I think we'll be fine just using the GOG forums for the time being. Maybe the the steam community too, to announce the event. I'm pretty sure it'll be best as a weekend affair. Maybe 2 sessions on a Saturday, to cater for different time zones
As for setting up the servers, I'm afraid I'm pretty inexperienced at that. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, do we want some sort of teamspeak solution, or shall we go truly retro, and just use the in-game chat?

Oh I didn't understand that. The IRCapp would be cool, yes.

Fenixp: Doom co-op

Get skulltag! Plenty of servers.
I guess I don't have more than one or two of the games on GoG with multiplayer modes, but the idea is great, so I totally support it :) I just think the announcements for such game events should be made in this section, the General discussion, so that really most of the interested people can take notice.
