Hi I am interested in buying another gog game. Two questions...

Might and magic serious. Which of their games have automap. I need automap or I get lost lol.

Neverwinter Nights. Will it work on computer. Heard it crashes alot. Also, do you have link for all user created modules??? And are they good? Are they still being made or no since NW2 is out. My computer positive not handle NW2.

Yes, Neverwinter Nights works on computer, which computer I have no idea. Look up the NWN vault for modules.

M&M 6-8 should have automap IIRC.

If you take a look in the NWN game thread you will see a stickied post that lists everything you could want to know about downloads for the game.

Might and Magic from six onward have an automap feature.

No idea if 3-5 have it too though, and it always helps to keep your own notes anyway.

How good is the automap in these games? From the pictures from M&M2, the mapping seems quite basic (just dungeon layout). The best I've seen was from Ultima Underworld.

As for NWN, there are loads of great user mods, and I'd suggest checking out the game-specific forum, because there are a few threads that people have made about various mods.

There are still a great deal more mods out and being created for the first NWN game than its sequel. I have a seven year old alienware that runs it well, I might have had an issue with my soundcard, but it wasn't anything too serious. I highly recommend the game, and the GOG version even has most of the premium modules that were released.

You're looking for Neverwinter Vault. There are complete instructions for downloading and installing modules. I'd recommend the Demon series and Darkness Over Daggerford for some nice modules to start your collection, although you can check the hall of fame and sort by ratings.

I think NWN: Diamond should run smoothly on just about everything.

M&M1, for all its magnificent glory at the time of its release, is a poor game by today's standards. No auto-map, you can only save your game at one of 5 inns, and even when using a Trainer (cheat) utility to boost your stats the game is still incredibly difficult. But on the pro side, it is a huge world with a unique story & if it were re-released today with the exact same features but modern graphics, it would show just how spoiled we've become with auto-maps & saving anywhere we darn-well please. It was challenging, but not impossible...I beat it 25 years or so ago.

While we are at it...

How can you install M&M 4 and 5 + swords? Can you play 4 without 5? And World of Xeen without Swords? And is Swords standalone?

... maybe I should just buy it ... ;-)

M&M 3-5 are well worth the $9.99 price on their own. You can play them all individually, but yes, having 4 & 5 both installed adds more inter-world quests (the 2 "games" are considered opposite sides of the same flat disc-world). Swords is a standalone, with elements of Xeen...I started it but go very far, it felt like it lacked the completeness of 3-5, but it was still a nice bonus.

4+5 is a single checkbox in the installer (neither can be installed without the other), Swords is completely standalone.

MM6 do have automap, as was said, but the developers really liked to use all their real space, resulting in at least a couple of dungeons which are extremely complex (Castle Darkmoor and Tomb of VARN to name a couple of the worst). That doesn't mean that it's unplayable at all, just something to keep in mind. MM7 doesn't feature such complicated dungeons (but neither are they as interesting IMO).

Besides, there's some online ressources with maps and walthroughs of these places. All-in-all, I really recommend MM6 - It's the one game I never tire of.
