UT3 has no Onslaught itself, but the main bits are in Warfare mode. Also, UT3 has no Bombing Run, which I was into for weeks with my friends in UT2004. So, as a whole, Epic sucks.

deoren: Neat, I hadn't heard of that mod before. Thanks for the link.

KeitaroBaka: Me too ! Shame they did not include it un UT3. That's why I play a lot UT99 and UT2004

They have Warfare mode, which I think is the same thing with a different name. I'm not sure whether it was included in earlier patch levels, but it's in 2.0 and newer.

Warfare is not assault. It's more like Onslaught.

KeitaroBaka: Unreal Tournament 99 maybe ?

I have 04. What about that?

We're still debating that.

Assault Mode - Assault mode returns! Redesigned for UT2004, this fan-favorite mode sees teams face-off to defend and attack fortified bases, from fast-moving trains, barreling across an arid alien desert to a Skaarj mother ship, poised to attack the human home world.

Ah, I confused the two.

Yeah, I bought UT3 hoping that it could recapture some of the glory that was UT2004. It couldn't.
For one thing, I couldn't even seem to find anyone playing it. And while Warfare mode wasn't bad, like folks are saying, it was basically Onslaught mode from 2004, which, while fun, wasn't as fun for me as Assault or Bombing Run.
I just... loved Assault So. Damn. Much. I cannot stress how much I loved Assault Mode. Driving that Hellbender through the Junkyard? Linking up with a bunch of guys to heal/cover the tank in that one where you have to steal the tank and drive out off the map? The fighter assault when your team is trying to take down that Skaarj mothership? Man, that was some FUN stuff. I never met an Assault map I didn't like.

AlphaMonkey: Oh, God, Assault.

Assault was full of win, and it was the only thing that kept UT alive, until they butchered it in UT3. I felt deathmatch in UT paled compared to Quake 3, because the pace was slower, the weapons were less fun to use, and you can't rocket jump (impact hammer jumping isn't cool), but assault - now that was something different
Hey you guys want to play something that isn't really latency-demanding? Maybe Duke Nukem co-op? We can always buff up the difficulty high enough to include more monsters on Damn I'm Good. Now that will be some crazy fun
PS. I suggested that also because I don't have UT99 installed and I lost my CD :(

I'm up for any UT or Quake game (though I haven't played much multiplayer in any of the Quake games, despite having all of them).
And how about Warcraft 2 Battle.Net edition? There are still servers running so it should be possible. Out of practice though, since I haven't played the game for like 10 years or so... It might also be possible to play the original DOS version through some DOSBox tinkering, though that might be more trouble than it's worth.

It's not too bad, you just have to make sure that the proper ports are open. I've done a three player match without issues before, but it was on a LAN.
Just to be clear, I'm referring to Warcraft 2 + EXP + last patch.
Any more interest in this?

YES!
Sounds like we need some way to vote on both the day/time and the game. The only thing that springs to mind is SurveyMonkey, but that would likely be clunky for this.
Ideas?

OK, so the general game of choice in UT, but I think I'll go with UT GOTY because of the low system requirements and it shouldn't be as demanding on multiplayer. The time is something I need to figure out, because I don't know who's going to do it and who's not. So if you're interested, post something like "Aye" or whatever. I'll draw up a list and I'll plan out servers later.

michaelleung: "Aye" or whatever

I'll just have to either get the game from here, or install the copy I borrowed from a friend long ago, whom I since have lost contact with :-P
