I was thinking that we should all get together (virtually, of course, because I'm still freaked out over Weclock's gas mask) and play multiplayer games that we own on GOG. Or at least made in before 2004 or something and it's a game we all have in common. Then again, I have hesitations posting this because whenever someone creates a "let's play online together" thread, we all get excited for a few days and it gets buried.
DooM 2 perhaps? ZDaemon is a great online client for the old DooM games.
I think the biggest problem would be the latency, since we seemed to be rather spread out across the planet.
I'll be keeping an eye on this. If someone has a good suggestion I might even buy the game just for this (I don't have that many multiplayer games).
Unreal Tournament 99 maybe ?

Sounds cool.
Who's making the server, when is it happening, and who's playing?
I can only play on weekends. No Internet connection on weekdays (i'm posting from work)
If you're trying to organise something this specific, I think you need Mr Worldclock
I was also thinking about playing a new multiplayer game together every week, making it a recurring thing and we can try out new games as well/

We could always just find an empty server and play on there.

Same here. I've been contemplating getting UT99 but hadn't made my mind up.
I'd also be interested in UT2004 or Painkiller.
How can you play across Europe to America? :) Pings would be so high.
I can deliver a server for UT2004, passworded and everything, so it's just us chickens, and a TeamSpeak server too.
I'm thinking the best time would be a Saturday evening, European time. That should give at least the Europeans and Americans a chance to participate. Possibly the Australians too, if they don't mind getting up early on a Sunday morning.
The server is in Germany, by the way.
It would have to be a Saturday where I was at least partially available, but if nothing else, I could set up the server in advance, so people could just log on without my being there.
I'm in for UT2004. I also have a Ventrilo server if we need to use that. ventrilo.game-central.org:5000, password lagabond.
