Seeing as quite a few people were looking for the v1.x installer icons, I tried to gather them online for easier use. I also tried to do the same with the v2.x icons, even though I am missing some from both sets. The icons can be found here, and there is a spreadsheet detailing what is there and what is still missing.

Also, while v2.x icons should be easy to find, there are some games that I'm missing the v1.x icons for, and I'm not sure how easy they will be to find. If anyone has the v1.x installers for them, I'd appreciate it if they could send me the gfw_high.ico from them.

List of games missing v1.x icons

Edit: Updated list, thanks to 12 icons sent by F4LLOUT
Edit 2: Dzsono sent 6 more icons.
Edit 3: Even more items by Dzsono

+1 and thanks for your efforts as always, JMich.
I actually like the newer ones but +1 and thanks for your effort. :)
Well considering I don't even yet have three stars this may be rushing it but sure I guess I'm willing to become a GOG.....wait.....did I misinterpret the intent of this thread?
Wow, great list. Thanks much, +1.
Dang, if you had posted something like this a few months ago. I've been doing a rather good job replacing all my v1.x installers with v2.x installers. But I just checked, I still have a few of the games from your list around in version 1.x. I'll try to bundle up as many of the missing icons as possible.

Edit: Okay, I think I found thirteen or fourteen of the missing ones. Will send you a PM with a download link soon.

I can probably help with a lot of them, as I have the v1 installers burned to CD/DVD. I'll have a gander later.
Okay, I found twelve, uploading them right now, will send you a PM in a minute.
If you could, please, keep the list updated, I'll see what I can contribute over the weekend.

Funny, I just finished updating my installers about a week ago or so. Looks like all of the old installers for my ~400 games have been replaced with the 2.0 ones with exception of Space Rangers 2.

While at first I wasn't too keen about the new icons when GOG introduced them, I actually prefer them now. But the real reason I finally spent some serious time/bandwidth replacing the old installers is because the newer ones are less clunky and simply better looking to me.

Thank you, grabbed them and uploaded them. OP list updated, excel got updated with new entries.
Well, I just spent the better half of the last hour (edit: closer to two hours) sifting through all my installers (which I keep on my home server, old installers included), and it looks like I have a lot to contribute (a lot of these games need to be downloaded though): http://pastebin.com/VMmfJA4H

Do you know if there's a way I can extract the icons out without having to install anything? Because that could take some time.

Also, would you mind giving me a list of what was changed so I don't have to sift through all of that list, pleasy thanks?

F4LLOUT provided me with the following 12 v1.x icons:
Alan Wake
Disciples Gold
Evil Genius
Heroes of Might and Magic 2
Legend of Grimrock
Republic: The Revolution
Scratches
Sniper Elite
Spellforce 2: Dragonstorm
UFO: Aftershock
Uplink
Urban Chaos
For the v2.x installers, I do have quite a few games that I haven't grabbed the v2.x icons yet, so I'm not yet looking for them.
For extracting files from the installers, there is , [url=http://constexpr.org/innoextract/]innoextract and uninno, though I haven't had that much luck using them. You may be luckier, or someone may give another suggestion.

Thank you for the offer to help though :)

hehe... good one TinyE but I think you'd be more at home on the GOG Notorious list. ;)

JMich: words
My efforts didn't all go to waste though, now I have a ton of installers to update that I never realized needed updating.
