Tarm: Well there are a lot of old and semi old FPS engines out there. Making a new AAA FPS title doesn't have to be that expensive. Shouldn't be really old looking either. If you get your hands on a engine and it's not too expensive.
Didn't I read something about Crytek (Spelling?) here? I skimmed that thread so the reference might be off.

Otherwise I agree with you.
There are quite a few FPS games on GOG already of course too, and it would be great to see them gain Galaxy support. Even though I don't play any of them multiplayer now I'd be curious to do so through Galaxy just to see familiar faces online and be able to socialize with many GOGgers in a new way likely. If new games show up here also, either that exist out there already and get Galaxy support added, or are newly created games with Galaxy and crossplay etc. - all the merrier. I just don't believe we're likely to see any that show up here as Galaxy exclusive though.

If someone has the money to cough up to buy the Crytek engine they're unlikely to use it to make a GOG Galaxy exclusive title IMHO. :)

Again, I never mentioned anything about exclusivity. I mentioned this in my earlier posts.

Foclock.215: I never said nor would I want an FPS that's GOG exclusive. I merely think that a solid FPS shooter offered by their service would be a good idea. It would not only satisfy many of us (I might be wrong) but, it would also bring new people in to the community.
I wouldn't doubt it. It could work, if it used its own system. From what I understand, its also F2P.

Oh certainly, having any FPS games here updated to use Galaxy will be a good thing old or new and I'm sure we'll see that happen sooner or later. In that case I'd agree with you and I also think it would help boost the socialization on GOG in a whole new way too.

I'd personally love to see Chivalry Medieval Warfare show up here as a free game, so it could be used for calling out people in medieval sword fighting duels as a form of forum dispute resolution. That would be crazy ass fun. ;oP

Yeah, that does sound fun! I'm glad you see it my way.

True that on the Crytek engine.

What I'm looking forward to is chatting with people from here and possibly play a game with them through Galaxy using TeamSpeak or something. I wanna spread my bad english more.

Here's are some interesting followups to the idea...

Obviously big name AAA games that are available only on Steam/Uplay/Origin are pretty unlikely (Call of Duty series, Tom Clancy newer titles, ArmA 3, Valve games, Battlefield series, etc.), but there may be some AA, A, or other games that stand a possibility to show up sometime, so the question is...

What existing FPS games on GOG right now would people like to see gain GOG Galaxy multiplayer support?

What FPS games that are not currently available on GOG but which might realistically stand a remote chance of being added to the GOG catalogue sometime in the near future would people like to see here?

Foclock.215: This! It would be freaking awesome! Killing Floor 2 is coming out soon, but I have a feeling that its going to use Steamworks, sadly.
If it wasn't gonna use Steamworks then it won't use / be compatible with Galaxy either. :P

Definitely would like to see Killing Floor 2 and Unreal Tournament 4.

Judge Dredd. :D

Why not just make it DRM-free and have it on multiple services? I don't see a problem with that, but many companies don't want to go with that option anyways.

What do you mean? Developers/publishers hosting the games themselves AND not having a DRM check of any kind? You know, that was quite common like ten years ago. Also, almost all of these games are dead. :P Developers should just go with Steamworks + Galaxy and everyone will be happy, assuming that Galaxy will actually work well.
Ok, here's my list of existing FPS games that I want to see have Galaxy multiplayer support on GOG:

1) Postal 2
2) Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest
3) Postal 2
4) Far Cry
5) Postal 2
6) Far Cry 2
7) Postal 2
8) Kingpin: Life of Crime
9) Rise of the Triad (2013)
10) Postal 2
11) Shadow Warrior Classic Complete
12) Postal 2
13) Wing Commander (entire game series)
14) Postal 2
15) S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (entire game series)
16) Postal 2
17) Red Faction series

That's a decent selection right there IMHO. Oh and before I forget, another game that would be excellent to see with Galaxy multiplayer support would be Postal 2.

hummer010: Assumeing that galaxy works with all/most of GOGs existing library

Wishbone: It won't. At least not in the way that multiplayer is facilitated by the Galaxy system. Galaxy is like Steamworks. A game has to be made for it to use the matchmaking/server browsing functionality.

Of course, games that use their own systems for multiplayer, such as UT2004, will work just fine in Galaxy, because they'll work exactly the same as if they'd just been launched on their own. But Galaxy won't add anything to them.
I don't really do a whole lot of multiplayer, so I see multiplayer as only one part of galaxy. I still say the volume of games is more important than one single game.

You won't get it. They've already said that the Galaxy multiplayer service only works with games that are made specifically for it. It's no different than Steamworks multiplayer, it's just made by GOG instead. And presumably it'll work outside of the client as well, as opposed to Steam.

Running With Scissors is working on GOG Galaxy support right now for a future update for Postal 2. Some other games may be as well, and GOG has stated that they will do what they can for as many games in the catalogue as possible so this isn't black or white really. Some games we already know for sure are getting Galaxy support, some others are "looking into it" and others very well might consider the option once it is available with or without the coaxing of GOG. Some of the games on the list are more likely than others, in particular the newer games, but since this is a wish list and not a "I believe this is definitely going to happen in 3 days 300% list"...
