People with night abilities may have more information and you can link overnight deaths to discussions that have taken place previously, hopefully helping you identify the guilty parties.

I think we all know why.

In the case that someone doesn't know why, it is related to another mafia game.
I need my bed - jeeesus i'm getting old, one day on the piss and it takes me forever to get over it.....rrrrubbish.

Anyhoo, lets have a little look before i wander off into my lovely bed.

RVS still going on really, isnt it?.

I've only really picked up on one thing - its a small thing, but worth pointing out.

Post 41, Rodzaju, talking about different Mafia..quote...

'If we have 4 different Mafia, even with just 2 members each, town is already outnumbered!'

If he was town, would it not be more natural to say 'we are already outnumbered'?

Only a small thing, but on day one its the small things that matter..

Unvote nmillar - it was only for old times sake anyway...;o)

But if I'd said "We are outnumbered" I would have been accused of trying to appear town.

And people say romance is dead.

There isn't really much to go on, but I'm convinced there are several factions in this game; why else would they be explicitly named in ViolatorX's introductory post? That would also explain the higher than usual number of participants this time round.

Yeah, I'm trying to move out of RVS and get some proper discussion going!

I'm just anxious for the second day to start so I have some sort of information to work with. I don't even have any old rivalries to stoak with RVS :(

Day 1 always takes ages; everyone does a bit of prodding in the hope of getting a slip from a mafia member before forming a bandwagon on somebody who smells a bit funny and hoping they turn out to be scum.

Personally I think it helps us if we can move out of RVS as quickly as possible - although the stage does have its merits and many a thing has been said in jest that later has deep meaning. Its just that you cant pick up on that until a few 'days' have gone by.

In other news, I feel loads better today, so stand by for walls of text and wild theories being spewed out left right and centre.

@Rod - you could yes, and for me that would be a more natural way of putting it - if you were town and thinking as town, that's how you would phrase it. I DID get into trouble myself one game for continually saying 'I'm town', so you do have a point, but the phrasing just struck me as a bit off.

Well, for once I actually agree with you. There's very little chance of garnering any useful information from Day 1 unless somebody slips up. So far, we only really have Rodzaju's comment that you pointed out and the "What is scummy?" conversation from earlier, but I don't think that's enough to warrant a lynching at this stage.

There's already a few people lurking in the shadows and not contributing much, but since a couple of them are new to the game, it may take some time to get used to picking people's posts apart.

If we assume the usual 25% of players are mafia, then I guess there could be a 4-person group in this game. But, because of the factions named in ViolatorX's opening post, I think it's more likely that there are 3 or 4 competing groups.

This does not mean town are outnumbered (yeah, I'm phrasing it the same way as Rod did) since each faction presumably needs to kill off the other factions to win the game.

Yeah, that's a pet peeve of mine. Because saying "I'm town" is a non-information. Townies are town and scum will always claim to be town. Therefore, saying you are town is just a waste of space; the only purpose it could possibly have is to implant "look, he's town" into everyone else's minds.

Or, you know, just wasting space. Which is not a lynchable offence, unfortunately.

Rodzaju claims he weighted those two options, but decided to stick with the more distant phrasing (Post 81), while Robbeasy suggests a more instinct driven phrasing.
I tend to agree with Robbeasy on this point.

Moreover, I find Rodzaju attempt to explain this as a thought through phrasing a bit fishy.

For this reason:

Jumping to conclusions much? Or do you know something I don't?

No, just common sense based on the information provided in the first post.
