I hoped that the "xxxxxx" coupled with the fact that Baz had already demonstrated that he had worked it out would save from the Ire of the mod.

And it almost worked!
I have received a very pointed reminder by PM.
My post R's are simple. You can tell everything by saying nothing.

Some people have things to say or avoid. Failing a basic task(All are simple) will leave you with a bullet in your head :)

It starts.....

This is what I was talking about on day 1 when I accrued 4 votes.
I may have survived that day, but now I'm getting grilled again & everything I say in my defence just seems to make it worse.
Of course, if I don't say anything, I'm "admitting guilt".
Does anyone really think I will survive today?

It's game 4 all over again....

It's not the fact that you defend yourself, it's HOW you defend yourself. Your argument that your survival is more important than town winning most definitely is a terrible defense

I only see two possibilities - you're antitown, or you're a town who prefers to be a detriment to town victory for no reason than to just stay alive. Either way, you certainly are no help right now.
@Vitek:
Well, my reasoning was that little details tend to pile up, and considering I'd only been in the game for a couple of pages or so by that point, I wouldn't be surprised if later on someone went back and though "Hang on a second, she turned out out of the blue as a replacement and hammered this townie! Maybe she knows something!" Baz's post-lynch breakdown would have picked up on that, along with other people.

On the flip side, my wondering out loud has kind of had the same effect. Zut.

Good god Rodzaju, stop wriggling so much, you're rocking the boat...

Right. You seem to be more concerned that usual about getting lynched - you started leaking information when you had four votes in a fifteen-person game, and just then you were reluctant to give your role name because "people might think it looks scummy" and start to pile votes on you. That's a pretty flimsy reason to vote for someone... I'm really not too sure why you're so scared.

You're nervy about being lynched, but didn't think you would be nightkilled. Hmm. That's not exactly town-flavoured thinking, there.

On the roleclaim fest this little incident has provoked, I see wine all over the place...

@nmillar: Actually Robbeasy fell for it as well...

*Orry just made a very nice switch to Rod, after prodding jefequeso for a while then submerging... Did we just witness the birth of a baby bandwagon? Unvote QuadrAlien, Vote Orryyrro

I meant that the mod almost agreed with my reasoning.
Almost, but not quite, or I wouldn't have got that PM.

However, it has had at least 1 interesting effect.
This is the second time that Violator has appeared to defend me.
This, to me, reinforces my belief that Baz's name was a mistake.
Partly as a result of that mistake, I have dug myself a hole.
He feels partly responsible so has tried to undo it.

I really would rather he not make too much of a habit of it though.
Singling out anyone like this can only upset the balance of the game.

NotFrenchYet: *Orry just made a very nice switch to Rod, after prodding jefequeso for a while then submerging...
You'll notice one of my reasons for finding jefeueso suspicious is that he didn't find Rodzaju suspicious.
avatar
nmillar: Even Baz doesn't seem to know his role. He claimed doctor on Day 1, but is now claiming Jailkeeper.
Paranoid Doc or Jailkeeper, it's all the same to me. I knock them out with an injected solution prepared from mushrooms (the psychoactive kind). How does that protect, I don't really know, but it definitely makes you sleep until the next day.

I'm still not convinced I want Rodzaju to be lynched. His claim is crazy suspicious, but this spotlight focus on him makes it way too easy for the scum to hide in the shadows. And in all probability there's at least three of them, you know.

Rod (and Baz as well) being town is one of the only things I feel somewhat certain about thus far. The thing is that nothing really adds up if he's scum. ESPECIALLY considering X's seeming cooperation with his claims (I was amazed that nobody seemed to pick up on that). And were this some sort of elaborate mafia ploy, I'm sure it would be a lot slicker and full of less holes. Neither Rod nor Baz are new at this game. No, the most logical explanation to me is that he's town. If he flips mafia, well... I'll be reconsidering my judgement.

Ewwwww! I hate this. No I don't see it particulary as scummy but I hate it. Guessing mods motives for anything is so pointless and I think it can't help in anything. I have never seen it to help. We can't guess why mod did something he did and we shouldn't try.
So I disregard this post as defense completely and only partly as scumtell.

I wouldn't call Violator's posts as your defense, though. It's short statement that can be even interpreted in more ways.

If you can't tell us but can link to it it's quite pointless restriction. In game I imagine it as you were bound by geas or something to not say it but you were free to write it down and show us the paper.

@nmillar; He has to be paranoid doctor which is effectively jailkeeper so it's easier to refer to it as jailkeeper.

I'm VERY puzzled about this statement. first one is - your workaround didn't almost work - it did work, it only brought a warning with it, it seems (or you're lying).
Further, I could start modmetaing, because that is essentially what you're inviting, but I doubt it'd be all that smart - let's just say I do not agree with ViolatorX interfering with the game directly :p

I disagree, simply for two facts - jailkeeper is more likely to be assigned to a mafia member than doctor is, and jailkeeper is a nonbastard version of paranoid doctor. This could all just be a matter of definition, but I find the difference large enough (Hence why Paranoid Doctor in it self is not a role, but an insanity variant of a role).

Anyhow, more important stuff. I find Orryyrro's return quite interesting. I mean, day 1 he shows more activity than he would normally, on the second day, he almost disappears, then reappears with a vote for the most obvious target (Rodzaju) with almost no explanation whatsoever. QuadrAlien is extremely silent so far, cruward is not saying much either (Likely due to his newbieness), and then there are possibly other lurkers I have forgotten all about.

Twilight hasn't said much either today.

A few people are saying chances are Rod is Town - the only thing that gives you this 'certainty' is the fact of Rod having so much 'info' that he couldn't possibly be Mafia, as the role would be too strong.

The only 'info' we know for certain is taken entirely at the behest of another player - Baz. All else could be completely made up, for all we know. Far-fetched?? Not nearly as far-fetched as his bizarre claim!

What do we do ? Our only and prime priority is gathering confirmed information. Everything else is WIFOM - there will ALWAYS be an argument for and against, as you have players with opposing views.

The best way of confirming what we have so far is to lynch Rod. Why?

If he is Town -
Baz is exonerated - we have a definite paranoid Doctor with us. He becomes a powerful weapon for Town. Other players , in their defence or otherwise of Rod can be judged. Meh, if he flips town no doubt I will come under pressure, but it's not about single players - its about a Town win! It's all about going with the information we have and testing it, and this is the best way to do that.

If he is Mafia -
Baz has to look suspect. Ditto Jefequeso, who has continually stated his belief they are town.

Don't get me wrong here - I think Rod is scum, but I'm by no means 100% certain. But taking the bigger view, name me one other player that would yield up the information that would best serve town, if they were lynched. If Rod flips town no doubt I will come under suspicion, but I'm willing to accept that as I see no other option this day that gives us anywhere near the information lynching Rod would do.

Yes, I'm pushing it, and push it I will continue to do. Its the most logical and best step we can make as town - I cant see anything else happening today to change that view. Until this is cleared up I think anything else that happens today will be a massive WIFOM discussion and ultimately lead nowhere.

Vote remains on Rod

This looks very similar to arguements made againt Orry in game 8.
Look how that turned out.
