With anguish the townsfolk look upon a face that each is so familiar with. He seems pained, tormented by the accusation and broken in spirit he mumbles.
"Forgive me. I didn't...."
The crowd is still, no-one makes a sound but for a quavering, catching breath that envelopes every person - and in the calmness they know.
They know that their friend, a man they lived beside, who had made them smile and had smiled with them, has decieved them. Has lied about who he was and tricked them into thinking he was capable of love when at the heart of his being he sought the destruction of everything the town held dear. He sought to bring pain and grief and death to the town itself.

In the stillness the man looks up to the archway, fear in his eyes.
The people look into the face of the stone figure sitting atop. It stares down upon them, a dreadful, pointed stare. Its grey eyes fixed. Turning their heads as one they follow the gaze to the fountain, the large pool whose waters had leapt and tumbled in the days of peace but had fallen still some nights before.
The lone man looks at the waters and quakes, sobs and tears fall.
With sombre purpose, wordlessly, the crowd moves towards the evildoer, taking him in hand, pushing him, not roughly but relentlessly, towards that still, clear pool. He is born along like a twig fallen into a brook. He is pushed to the stone edge and down into the cold, cold water. The town fall upon him, up to their waists, holding him down, holding his head down where the life's air cannot reach him and he can only choke, and grasp, and sink, and die.
The water falls still again.

The town stand, legs in that lake where lies the drowned man. They look at one another. They remember their stories.
When evil is sent to drown in the frosty waters, their malevolent masters will not allow the life to leave their wretched bodies, but instead they surface, shrieking evil's name.
This man has died, and his corpse is at rest.
Fearfully, hatefully, the town step from the bitter pool and walk home.
Words offer no comfort. They struggle to take each step. They each find their beds and sleep. What more can be done.

Muttly13 has been lynched. He was the Kindly Baker (TOWN VANILLA).

End of Day IV. It is now Night IV, night actions away! I'll give you two days?
Bah!

OI!

I know it's now night but that doesn't mean I'm going to let you get away with sloppy votecounts. I voted for Pazzer!

FINE
Hi guys! I'm really sorry about this but could you give me a little bit longer? I'm indisposed to a higher power.
I'll get back to you soon with the exciting consequences of Night IV's events.

Gah! I was so excited when I saw there'd been a post.

JoeSapphire: could you give me a little bit longer?
No.
The final breath will come with ease,
falling free to join the breeze.
There are trials which cause consternation:
drawing breath from a stone.

It cannot be done

The dawn light pierced the people's eyelids. Whisking away the horrors of the night, reminding them definitely that they were still alive.
They left their houses early, meeting the chill air at their doorways, embracing the solemn atmosphere. They met in the garden. All of them.
Blood coursed hot through their chests - had they found it after all? Did Muttly13's death mean the end?
But something was not right.
Beneath the archway, in the shallow shadow of a pillar, a figure was fallen, headless. Shards of skull all around. Violently it had been broken. Rage could be seen in the patterns of white stone.
It was the silent observer.

Why it had decended from above, none could say. But its appearance was disturbing.
The events of the night played out in their minds. The statue in darkness, approached from behind and felled by one who thought it to be a living man.
Though it had saved them, its presence unsettled the Townspeople in a powerful way.

It is now Day V

huh?? O_o
No-one died

By the way.

In case that wasn't clear.
Thanks joe- yeah I got that, but still don't understand why...!

@everyone else
What possible scenarios could this indicate?!
I've got a vague theory, but I'd like to hear if people with night actions have anything to say first.

On a slightly different topic, did anyone thing that the way Xyem hammered last night was ridiculously scummy? Like perhaps he thought "Yes, I've won!" and forgot to justify his hammering.

Yes I thought that that was really weird!
