pazzer: Xyem's claim not to have any abilities is surely a lie. Otherwise the post restriction is stupid.
Totally disagree. It could be nothing more than to add flavor to the game. Granted, no one here, especially Xyem, seems to enjoy that part of the game but that doesnt mean it cant be there. I do think Xyem appears to either be incredibly unhappy playing this game, in which case I would say he is both town and should have left by now, or hes following his role as commanded. I dont think that role is definitely something other than vanilla however. Possible sure, but the mere fact he has a post restriction (especially one seemingly so frivolous) shouldn’t be “proof” he has some other ability.

As this is becoming very out-of-game, I gave my thoughts on post restrictions here, and I really think it should be discussed further over there. Note it's purely theoretical; until we know the full setup of the game, we can't comfortably say anything about the restrictions we have.

For the reasons listed there, I consider this discussion a very serious case of rolefishing and would prefer if it were stopped.

Nothing out of game in what I said. Commenting on information the player has provided and my thoughts on if he is then scum/town.

Again, being new and all, I looked up the rolefishing bit. Even if you want to claim this is rolefishing (which seems a stretch in my book as Xyem has basically volunteered all this info without being pressed), there is nothing that says its not a valid piece of the game. Scummy, useless, whatever you might think about it, not sure why you would want it to stop? If its a personal thing, okay. But it doesnt seem to be a violation of any rules. Serious question, not looking to bust chops...

No, of course it's not a violation of any rule of the game. It's a violation of a principle I've mentioned before: it is not in the town's interest to give out information if there is nothing to be gained in return.

xyem: If everyone is finding a discussion that you're provoking distracting...
... huh? Rabbit, Rod, Primal and Vitek responded to your initial evidence post at #342. My contribution at #351 basically just says "WTF?" and attempts to bring the discussion back to Orry. Rabbit mentions she thinks we're getting distracted in #361. #385 is the next time I bring it up in response to other people's thoughts on the subject, and I'm the one who gets pounced for provoking. D:

Well, never mind, it felt like you were lashing out in frustration, and regardless we can't pass judgement on that score until we know if Orry is telling the truth or not, or something really obvious happens... (Thanks for the link, baz)

@Pazzer: Well, initially because the Rule 9 Paradox had me convinced Orry is mafia. If he is mafia, I thought it highly unlikely that Baz is also mafia, since he started the whole issue very late on D1. My logic was simply that a fellow mafia would not point out such a huge slip. However, this hinges on Orry flipping scum, which several people have pointed out is not as certain as I thought. I was also not thinking of the possibility that if they are both mafia, they could back each other up in a falseclaim situation like that. So I am less convinced than I was.

pazzer: At the start of the day NotFrenchYet was calling for people to be more open. But wouldn't share thoughts about Xyem and Orryyrro.
True at the time, but I subsequently did (Orry #265 & #273; xyem #263).

Still musing on what we might have learned from all this...

Ahh, gotcha.

It's your post 377.
You made a typo so the bolding didn't turn off.
I tried to fix it & failed.
When the thread reaches a new page, it fixes itself.
So post 401 should be fine.

Gah.. bad wording on my part.

"You" was referring to everyone who was arguing the specifics of my evidence in the "Bastard Mod" discussion, not you specifically. Sorry.

Total aside, but its a pet peeve... The one shinning example of contribution to society of The South outside of college football cheerleaders has been the inclusion of the phrase "you all" to the lexicon. Such a better term than simply "you" meaning "You", and "you", and even "you!".

PS - How did my post impact the entire board? What kind of hokey board are they using here?
I've been thinking about Orry:
If he were scum it makes sense for him to claim vanilla at L-2
It doesn't make sense for him to create a rhyme which, if true, would have violated #9
It then doesn't make sense for him to create a huge 'no I didn't break rule #9 because I am really the cop haha!'
Then it doesn't make sense for him to go into post restrictions: cop is an easy role to fake he could have been like: 'well i was told to say vanilla, post the rhyme, then claim cop' without any of this 'now I can't investigate until N3' >> mafia would leap at the chance to investigate, because they could point false fingers as it were.
Although cop and vanilla are the easiest roles for mafia to fake.
>>ergo he's town

Also his story fits with the first post of joe's about the king not being there. The Hamlet reference and Joe's modding style as we can gather so far.
Personally I'm 80% sure he's town

Thoughts?

Huh, I did wonder what your posts yesterday were talking about because I'm not seeing it at all. I was reading this thread in Chrome today and I'm in Firefox today and seeing nothing in either (see attached).

Anyway, I'm beginning to have doubts as to whether Orry is actually scum, but lynching him would at least clear Baz (or lose us some scum).
I'm sort of inclined to believe Xyem's claim of just being a sheep (unless perhaps he's a wolf in sheep's clothing?), I think the post restriction is just flavour perhaps.
I'm suspicious of Rodzaju but I can't really explain why (not because I won't share my thoughts, but because I don't know).

GOG wrote the forum software themselves and... it's awful. We didn't even have a PM system for a long time (we had to use an external solution for the first few Mafia games).

Ahhhh right, ok, no problem. The typo demons are out in force tonight, I see... ;)

I was so, SO sure Orry was scum, and now I'm having second thoughts. Rabbit's latest post in particular is pointing out the holes in my logic. It does trouble me however that the King has a name, where as Violator didn't have one, and the only other person I can confirm is me, and I don't either. Anyway, who's to say the King didn't order the murder of the Queen?

I still think Orry is our best bet for a tactical lynch, especially considering the amount of discussion the whole episode created, but I'm more willing to consider other options than I was this weekend... >_>

@Muttly my good man, why do you think Primal deserves pressure?
