I think it's a bit early to accuse him of that. We don't know that Orry is even telling the truth. So far the only confirmed weird thing is your post restriction.

xyem: Another perfect example is NotFrenchYet's comment in #263 regarding 'baa' (originally 'b', then 'a', Joe) where he goes "Black Sheep, anyone?". If I am town, Joe is making me look scummy and if I am scum, Joe would have been pointing it out. Joe shouldn't be doing anything other than moderating the game.
If it's any consolation, the moment I figured out what the deal with your post restriction was, I dropped everything I had against you. Giving such an obvious restriction to the mafia would be ridiculous.

I think post restrictions can be fun when used in moderation, but if Orry's claim is true, I would agree that something like that goes well above and beyond what could be considered reasonable. But I wouldn't get angry at Joe until we've got confirmation that it indeed is the case.

And I can confirm that I do not have a post restriction of any kind.

Did I miss something? What exactly is Xyem's restriction? *confused*

I have no post restrictions

I have no post restrictions
All "ba"s in his posts (with the exception of a few slips here and there) become "baa"s. So he's referring to me only as "baazilisek", for example. In the last post, he uses "bá" instead, though.

He's hinted at it on day one, and NFY has dragged it in the open earlier today.

Ha! How strange!
I should take this opportunity to point out once again that Frenchie is female -_-
I think the baa thing is harmless.
(( I'm a SHE, for third time! xD ))

No, I was the one making you look scummy. I used the phrase "black sheep" a) because it made a pun with the two previous 'baa's (baa baa black sheep), and b) as bait, to see if anyone obviously jumped on it. Nobody did, so I dropped it to concentrate on Orry.

You being forced to say "baa" means you're (probably) a sheep. Nothing more. I could also have said "Baa! How do you feel about knitwear, xyem?" or "Baa! Lamb chops for dinner then! :P"

So this restriction, in theory, gives nothing away. A sheep could be ANYTHING.

The fact that Joe refused to let you drop your post restriction says to me that he is sticking to the rules he has laid out.

Which brings me back to the quoting issue. If Orry's role PM instructs him to paste the Poor Blind Jack poem, it's a strange twist to be sure. But this is still quoting from a PM received by the mod, and it still breaks rule 9.

Is that right? Has anyone ever come across a role which instructs you to break one of the main rules? How likely is this?

Again, this is a potentially serious problem which can be cleared up by finding out which way Orry flips...
In the interest of getting back to useful territory, Pazzer has been conspicously quiet.

Taking over from Orry in the "professional Lurker" role?
(is that even a role?)

I would like to hear more of your thoughts.

Rodzaju: Just a quick survey:

Does ANYONE have a absolutely standard role?
I'm not asking for claims.
Vanilla is, after all, a role.
I'm asking if anyone has a role that is exactly bog standard without any post restrictions, special instructions, etc?

Just curious.
I was actually going to suggest this earlier. I have one thing added to what the wiki tells me is a bog-standard role, and no post restrictions.

Muttly too, where did he get to?

It's still the weekend, guys. I'm told some people have lives outside this forum, too :)

Hmm, well Mafia #6 had several roles with a post restriction that required them to falseclaim, but they still weren't instructed to quote something from their PM so there was no actual conflict with the rules.

Also, I have no post restriction. My role is normal as defined by the MafiaScum wiki.

... whoops. Fair point. O:)

He's being more of an amateur lurker. Pros lurk well enough to argue their cases at some points, or just put a low content post in every now and again to make it look like they're contributing, when really they have no clue what is going on. (see mafia 5)

@NotFrenchYet: No, it didn't break any rules, quoting the role PM is a rather serious offence, Joe would have done something by now had it been against the rules for me to follow my post restriction.
avatar
littlerabbit: Xyem, I think that's out of line. Joe is not power tripping. 'experimenting' perhaps; but creating ill will with the mod is not helping anyone and distracting from what we're here to do: find the mafia
Creating the rules in the first place is "experimenting".

Continuing with rules that were done for reasons that no longer apply is simply him wasting my time. He's making me do it simply because he can - which just so happens to be the very definition of a power trip.

But the game's moving so quickly that it might be over by tomorrow morning!

>_>

Actually, this game's like lightning compared to the last two...
Anyone fancy lynching Frenchie while he is asleep?

Just kidding!!!
